Silka is my grandma's Lab and one of Jackson's BEST buddies! She has always been soooo wonderful with him, I completely trust her, and she is just such a warm soul and so full of life.

My grandma called me crying today because she is fairly certain she has end stage cancer.

It seemed to come on so fast, she starting coughing up a lot of stuff and seeming hard to breathe. X-rays showed it's in her lungs now and they get final results on Friday to find out everything for sure. But my grandma is beside herself- this is her baby girl

She is 8 1/2 years old and always has been so hyper and excited and happy and now to see her just laying around, not wanting to eat, her body just shutting down is very sad.

I may go over on Friday with Jackson so they can say their possible goodbyes, depending on how progressed this is. Maybe it will perk her up a bit. Silka LOVES Jackson SOOO much. My grandma said every time I leave she watches out the window the whole next day waiting for us to come back.

Send them good vibes and prayers please, they could use it!

Silka is being put down today.

I wish we had a chance to say goodbye; unfortunately, she is suffering too much.

Her white blood cell count is off the charts and her lungs are filled, she can hardly breathe.

My grandma is devastated.

It just seems like it came on sooo quickly. Last weekend she just started coughing and my grandma thought it was kennel cough or something. Ugh. Now this.

She is trying to figure out if she should be in the room with her, or not. I told her I would. I know if it were Jackson, I could never leave him. But that's a tough decision.

I am just so sad for my grandma this year, right before the holidays.

I usually get Silka presents every year, so does my grandma. It's going to be so empty over there without her.

So say a small prayer today that my grandma gets through this and Silka makes it up to doggie heaven okay today. She sure has been a fantastic dog.
