| I know...the part of the press conference with Jack Hanna was great! ***UPDATE: they said there are supposedly only 3 animals missing right now. As of now, a Mountain Lion, Grizzly Bear & a Monkey are what they are looking for at the moment.

| According to Jack Hanna it does appear that there were animals on the property which were contained "alive" and will hopefully be placed with Zoo's.

| This story is crazy but here's the deal and why it should effect all of us IMHO: This is a perfect example of why this NEEDS to be illegal. I watch that show on Animal Planet about the obsessed people who nearly of do get killed by their exotic animals...99.9% of the time the person has emotionally unstable psychological issues and the animals are being starved or otherwise neglected i.e. improperly cared for even when put in nice clean secure cages and well fed. I do NOT believe in owning animals that can potentially kill you...but I further believe it should be ILLEGAL to own NONNATIVE SPECIES that can kill you. Look what pythons are doing in FL... heck look at the idiot two towns over from me who had a rare albino gator shipped from FL to here-it ate his dog and nearly the neighbor's small children...you see n o one here expects or should have an reason to be concerned about letting their three small children play in the back yard and further believe the kids are doing anything more than playing when they scream about an alligator in the yard...

What about that couple who were on trial when the snake hunted and killed their baby. The snake was starved and not properly contained. So it went looking for a meal which happened to be their child

| I wish I knew how to post the photos from the Columbus Dispatch - you would be even more sickened. All those dead, beautiful animals. So sad. I know it was dark and they were afraid to rely on tranquilizers but STILL, I can't help but wonder if it could not have been better handled.

| This country has just got to ban private exotic animal ownership. Period. No exceptions.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Lions , Tigers and Bears OH MY ! I only live two and a half hours from Zanesville Ohio/ this story just blew my mind. Very saddened by the outcome of this crazy incident. I dont know why they had to kill so many innocent animals instead of using tranquilizers and placing them in other facilities. What a huge disappointing and tragic outcome ! And what is concerning to me is that where did they get their information from. They said 59 total animals and all but one monkey has been caught or killed. Whos to say that there aren't more. I only hope that they are correct and that there isn't a wild animal still on the prowel.

| This has been all over every news channel in Michigan tonight, especially in light of the current legislation in Lansing to relax restrictions on keeping exotic animals. I don't know why they couldn't tranquilize the animals unless there was an actual imminent danger. It is so wrong for them to be wrecklessly killed this way.

| No one wants to hear this and I don't want to say it but I thought it so: These animals having a small taste of freedom even for a few moments and then being put down-it was probably the best day of their lives. I support zoos that have taken in rescue animals that otherwise would not survive in the wild-that's how ALL zoos should be...breed in captivity if needed release to the wild where they belong. Nature preservers are awesome unnatural animal hoarding private animal collections where animals are abused for display/ownership are not.
