Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | As for the vehicle thing, we don't live in on a major public street persay. We live in a subdivision, very small. It is a big square. You drive into the community and it's one way. There are no drive ways or garages. Everyone is allowed one little shed that coordinates with their home, but that's it. You have no choice but to park next to the sidewalk. So I think that is why they say you are only allowed 2 vehicles. If they didn't limit the number of vehicles, there would not be enough room. Does that make sense? We are not allowed to park on the right side of the road, only on the left next to the house. There are no houses on the right. Like the subdivision is a square and all the houses are in the center. Hope I'm not confusing the heck out of you! LOL

And we live in a small subdivision too. 4 streets, about 10 houses on each street. I understand what youre saying but honestly, who patrols to see who has more than 2 cars? I'd rather the police spend time on real crimes and not petty small stuff. Just sayin.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Oh I would never involve the police in a small matter like this. I could really care less about his 3 cars. I would even be cool enough to never say anything about his cars being too close to our house, which I haven't, but I do have a problem with his actions today. But again, not going to start a rucus. I don't want to be in drama with him in case my house is ever on fire or something. But I do think if the opportunity comes up to relocate to a place with better neighbors, I would lean more towards that. Our lease is up for renewal if we choose to do so in December. We have been talking about going ahead and buying a home here in PA. We have been waiting since we are from the South and were hoping to move back. But the hubby is having a hard time getting transferred. It looks like PA will be our home for a time to come. I wish we could find something in the country and out by itself.

| Hope it has worked out for you. I know this is a few days old, but I just wanted to share. We live at the end of a cul de sac. The street L's a bit after our house and there is no other houses there. There are a few jerk neighbors who call parking enforcement on us if we are parked more than 18 inches away from the curb, if we are blocking the sidewalk portion of our driveway, etc. We do have a lot of cars, we even tore out the lawn to make the driveway wider, then the jerk complained to the city that we have to have 50% lawn and 50% concrete. What does it matter to him? He doesn't even have to drive past out house to get to his, we are all the way at the end and not bothering him at all. So we had to pay to have someone come back out and tear out the new concrete and put grass back in. And you know what? There are plenty of other neighbors who have way more than 50% concrete on their front yards. Some people are just hateful jerks. I know exactly who these people are too. They have nothing better to do with their lives than to try to police the neighborhood. We don't fight back with them and still they pick on us. If I were you I'd be pissed too. But most likely I wouldn't say anything. Someone bringing my trash can up to my FRONT door is a big F you. If they were trying to be neighborly they would have rolled it next to the garage or where you keep it on non trash days, but the fact that it was rolled to your front door is quite obvious what he meant. I can be pretty passive aggressive, and I am not proud to admit it, but this sounds like something I would do on a bad day.

| I feel your pain! This is an all to common occurance. Parking in a lot of places is an issue. I live in a townhouse area where most of us only have 2 stalls. We have 3 vehicles. I have been lucky enough to have a wonderful neighbor who has been allowing me to use her extra stall. Well she recently got a new boyfriend and needed her stall back. Me: No problem. It's her stall. Now rewind to 8 months ago. I asked another neighbor if I could use her stall occasionally or even rent it. She said that I could just use it whenever I wanted to. (Hardly used it because other stall from neighbor was covered and not open. ) Another neighbor from another building asks said neighbor if they could use her stall also....she told them that it was ok BUT she gave me permission first and was just letting them know. I didn't care because at the time I really didn't need it. Well since I just lost my parking stall, I did the neighborly thing and told the other people parking there that I might be using the stall too. They said that "well we got permission". I said yes I know that but "I" got permission first and she told me that she told you that. (confused yet? lol) So needless to say these people who have 4 cars shuffle around their vehicles so we can never get in that spot. They will wake at 3-4 in the morning to shuffle cars so the spot will never be open. I realized after I talked to them that I don't even want to park in the stall at the moment because the inconsiderate people that they are ruined her stall. It is a guarantee that the owner of the stall is going to get cited. There is oil everywhere! The rules here are very strict. I haven't talked to her about the stall situation because I don't want to fuss with her about something that she is kindly letting me use. She knows that I haven't been using the stall and that the other neighbor has. She knows our vehicles. But for some reason the past few days they haven't been in her stall and my kids said that they seen my neighbor talk to them. I have no idea what about. Just a coincedence I think. LOL I won't park in that stall unless I get the go ahead from her again...and if it's cleaned up. Whew...long story.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Glad to know I'm not the only one who has had to deal with this type of situation. In the end, I have not said a word to anyone (neighbor, landlord, etc.). I did move my car up just a bit and now our trash can goes behind our car so that it is not in anyone but our way. I still wave and say hello to our neighbor when I am outside and they are out....but they rarely wave or say anything back. I think it's just the way they are. But at least now my can won't be in there way. I feel like I've done the right thing. I wanted to go give them a piece of my mind, but I refrained. Man it was hard to do too! LOL.

| It's so hard when you have difficult neighbors. Our HOA only allows you to have 2 cars parked. If you have 3 or more the 3rd and beyond must go on the street. I hope things work out and you can buy your house in December!! |

| I would let my trash can sit out there all week long, just to piss them off more.

| Ive lived in this house for 14yrs. The neighbor across the street has a now grown daughter that parks right across from our drive way,I cannt hardly get my car out. We have asked politely on many occasions if she could just move the car up 3ft. They have a 3car garage and a ton of driveway. Needless to say I have given up and tell my husband that he should be sure to park the F250 across from their driveway. If they hit it with the volvo,my money is on the truck. |
