| Asking Bridesmaids too early? When should you ask your friends if they would like to be bridesmaids? Im only just recently engaged and I have 3 definites but also one maybe, and I dont want to ask the 3 and make the 4th feel like an add on... I am not planning to get married for another 18 months or so (havent set a date yet but it will likely be in 2013). I just feel like 18 months is a long time and I dont want to ask right now and regret later! On the other hand I dont want to leave it too late and have my friends feel like im not going to ask! |

| I think a year and a half is way to early to ask. You don't even have a date yet. I would wait a while. Alot could happen in that tiime. I would say 10 months or so before the wedding is good. Then they could help you pick out a dress and then pick their own out. That's enough time to order a dress. Good luck

| I'd say 8-12 months is fair. It's way too early and you may change your mind. It's also nice to have a date set first so they aren't agreeing when maybe having something else going on that day. My sister got away with asking 6-7 months before (shorter notice wedding) and it was fine.

| I think it depends- if there is someone you have been friends with your whole life, or if you had a sister of something- someone who was FOR SURE going to be your maid of honor- I would ask them right away, because they may feel like you are not going to ask since they would obviously know you are getting married. However, for others you may not be so sure about or worry will change I would wait at least until you have a definite date set.
