| Aren't you a man? Why don't you know how to do [fill in the blank].. a rant thread Please join in! Why don't you (men) know how to: Change your tire/tube? Use a presta valve? Use a pump in general? Screw the left pedal in the left side and the right pedal in the right side? Sorry, just a few bike repair rants. Some of these guys are just unbelieveable! They know how to do all types of cool tricks, but when it comes to changing the tube in their tires they are useless. Then when they come in to get said repair they can't do, they ask me is the bf is in so they can get some help. Just bc YOU don't know how to do it doesn't mean I don't know how to do it. Changing a tube plus labor costs $11.99. A tube cost $5, and some tire levers cost $6.99. If you do the math, they can buy some tire levers and change their own tubes for eternity and it would cost the same as one flat tire service. You guys have NO idea how much time I spend everyday changing tires or tubes for people. Ok rant over, really needed to get that out. Now please share your own.

| My DH works in warehousing flooring products, from carpeting, laminates, and wood, to padding, underlayment, wood trim, glues, and supplies. He can look in the back of an 18 wheeler and tell within 500 lbs or less how much the load weighs, in less than a minute. These trucks carry anywhere from 30,000-75,000 pounds. This truly amazes me. BUT, at home it is a major feat for him to find the mustard in the refrigerator. It's been in the same place for 20 years. I just don't understand!

| Hummm, from my discussions with women from all over, most men should just start with learning to pump and screw -- then move on to biycles, cars, etc. Learning to swing a mop and an egg flipper would be a plus as well. |

Mine has the same problem! Where is this or where is that. We get up and find it immediately. (Because they don't look) His biggest one is finding where to put the dirty clothes. You know, the same place I have been putting them for 20 years now!

| Let's see- just in the past couple months- Take care of his truck Fix a disposal Hang a closet rod Nail in a nail Unclog a toilet Good thing my mama taught me to be independent, because I end up having to do most of the "man chores" around here. At least he is strong and can move things up 3 flights of stairs by himself, so I guess he's worth keeping around

| Can't change a bike tire?? A grown man?? You gotta be kidding! I've been able to do that since I was a little kid. At least guys like that keep you in a job. I'm pretty handy, as are most all the guys I know. We can all do some carpentry, mechanical work, know how to clean a house and cook, too!! Really, between me and my friends, there's very little we can't do on our own. If we need a little help, there's always a buddy and we swap favors. Isn't that how it's done? BTW, my bike is a 1973 Peugeot PX10-E. I bought it new and it's still in cherry shape. It's not completely original....I've changed the rims out to accommodate clinchers instead of sew-ups and now have sealed bearing hubs. I put on some side-pull brakes and have fingertip shifters. Other than that, it's as it was made...a real classic.

| Mine calls me at work and wants to know where a pot is so he can heat a can of soup. I come home and he has used the glass dome lid which is shaped like a bowl to heat it on top of the stove and of course it exploded. What a mess!!!! And then he blamed me because I didn't tell him the pot was metal not glass and that the glass part was the lid...geesh it isn't rocket science.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Manvision - a unique sight My hubby has man vision too You know how you can walk over a tuft of dog hair a dozen times and not see it? The fridge is foreign territory (that is when I am home), otherwise he manages to find what he wants to it really well by himself.
