| ![]() I am so sorry you are going through this. You really don't need this on top of what you are going through already! If you are sure it took place, this is serious business in the medical world. The dr can be reported for this. You might want to just inform the dr that you did not give written persmission for your daughter's condition to be discussed outside of her caregivers (which is a requirement under HIPPA). This is a neurologist you are seeing. I think it is probably time for a second opinion elsewhere. These are very upsetting symptoms, especially in a 16 year old. I understand totally why you feel the way you do - I would also. You don't need this "betrayal" on top of it. I'm sorry.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() That is so wrong. My 25 year old daughter has been dealing with a serious condition for a year now and she has to call each provider including the specialty pharmacies and sign a release so they can talk to me about her condition and order her medicines. My dtr was seeing a rheumatologist and she was getting no relief. One day we had to take another dr in the practice and loved her. You could tell she was surprised the other doctor hadn't moved forward in her treatment. We switched to her that day. Normally I am the type that would feel bad switching within the practice but when it comes to your kids health I'll do whatever it takes. Maybe you can switch doctors. Those are the HIPPA rules put in place for patient privacy. I am keeping your daughter in my prayers. She has to be so scared.

| ![]() That sucks. My advice, and my advice and $1.60 will get you a cup of small starbucks, is to find a much better Neurologist. Not sure, what about a Dermatologist if the skin is numb also. What about the Mayo Clinic? Sometimes it is worth a road trip of you can get her in there. I sure hope for all in the family, it gets resolved. |

| ![]() Ok just got back. I am positive that the dr was talking to my friend about this because I texted my friend some questions that only my dr knew the answers to. She told me that the dr said it will go away. I know for a fact that they had a conversation about my daughter. I also said to the dr., " oh my friend said that the lymes test came out negative?" She said, "yes" so there you go. Anyway the doctor said that since nothing has changed in the past week we should just monitor her and "hopefully" it will go away on it's own. Her motor skills are still fine, and her muscle movements and reflexes are still fine. In the beginning it was worse day by day, but that was it. Now it has been stabelized for a week now. The hospital also said that there is no sign of an emergency. The MRI results are fine which means no brain issues. I don't know. I don't want to have to put her through a spinal tap. The doctor said it probably wont show anything. My crystal ball is broken and in the shop so I don't know what to do. ![]()
