I feel that she should be punished...I hope you didn't think that I was saying otherwise. I am just struggling with believing that a mommy would do this. My heart hurts just at the thought of it. I didn't even know Caylee and yet, I have cried for days now and have done nothing but wish this all away. I can only imagine the pain for her grandparents.

I guess I stopped looking at Casey as a "mommy" a long time ago :(

I live within an hour ( a little more now) of the crime scene.....so I'm a bit biased ( NOT BAEZed!!)

People maim and kill children every single day...this case is nothing shocking except for the fact that Casey had so many believing it was something else for so long.

I just read two cases this week in TX that just blew my mind. One little boy was choked and thrown out of his father's car along a desolate highway. He survived but was bruised and had over 500 cactus spines in his body. Another case is a mother who was arrested for watching her boyfriend beat the daylights out of her infant son, breaking his legs, arms and ribs...and she did nothing. :(

I have to disagree with your statement saying that this case is not shocking. I find it EXTREMELY so....no matter how bad the world may seem, I will never be desensitized by a violent crime, especially one that involves children. A parent is suppose to protect and love their babies so, yes, I find this extra shocking.

I stand corrected. What I meant to say is that it is no less shocking than what goes on every single day in this country. People do awful things to children. :(

I suspect Casey wanted her child to sleep so she could spend time with boyfriends. Her mother gave her $300 a week for babysitters, but Casey used this to live, and she couldn’t afford a babysitter. She took Caylee to some boyfriends homes for overnights where they all shared a bed, but other boyfriends didn’t seem that happy when Casey brought Caylee and some even called her child “your offspring”. She pleaded with one boyfriend to come to her home and spend the night, but he didn’t want to and wanted her to come to his home. I think Casey had been giving Caylee medication to help her sleep for some time, and needed to make it stronger over time. One guy even said that the only time he saw Casey discipline Caylee was when she was trying to make her sleep, so this was a problem for her. I suspect Casey told her boyfriend that Caylee was with a babysitter and in reality Caylee was in the trunk of the car with maybe just one piece of duct tape so that she couldn’t make noise. Perhaps Casey overslept and Caylee died when the morning sun baked the car, Casey couldn’t tell anyone, even as an accident, it’s extreme neglect, so she put another piece of tape on her mouth with the heart shaped sticker. Caylee’s body was decomposing fast, and I think Casey stole money from grandma and others at this time so that she could leave town. The car was found at a check cashing place wasn’t it? Anyway, I think Casey was planning to leave town the night her mom called 911. It’s not that unusal for hookers to leave their kids in the trunk of the car, but they don’t spend the night with the guy. I believe this is where Caylee died. I’ve suspected some of the computer searches may have been contemplating her parents deaths, I think she wanted them dead.

I guess my only question about this is why not just leave Caylee with her grandparents and simply not answer any phone calls? I guess she did it so she could collect the babysitting money and make it look like she was taking care of her?

I don't think she wanted her mom and dad to know how much she was going out. I think she was dating three different guys at the same time, not sure her parents would have approved of all the overnights, plus, she was suppose to be working during the day. I think the parents did take care of Caylee many weekend nights, it was during the week when she had a problem. I believe Tony Lazzaro knows much more than he's saying.

I think they did the competency hearing to cover their butts no matter the side that asked for it.

I wouldn't have believed anything if she testified as she's lied about so many things you wouldn't know when she's truthful. I do think she should have testified to make any attempt to seem sympathetic to the jury. I think when the prosecutor hammered the date/enquirer story teller that she became even more frightened of what the prosecution would do to her. I was actually surprised that she didn't @ least try to redeem herself w/so much @ stake. <-----I wrote steak first! :yelrotflm
