YT Addict | Winds are calming but now pushing the fire north and west. I did heard firefighters were told to pull back because the heat, wind, and etc was out of control. It is still out of control, but I believe that are back into fighting it. Me and some other photographers will be putting together a rally weekend in the Peace Region and all profits from all mini sessions booked will go to victims! So happy to be able to give back a little, this is so so so sad. Its hopefully the only fire like this for the year... too close for comfort even though we are safe.

I am so sorry.... my comment must have seemed very insensitive! Today when I looked back at the pictures and the other comments that were added after my comment, I was Shocked. My comment was not all there. I copy and pasted it but didn't realise I had forgetten part of it. I got distracted and didn't get to proof read it before I summited it. Before I realised it, it was too late to edit. The devastation that is taking place must be very terrifying for you and your families. I am truly sorry for seeming like I didn't care. Please be safe... !

| Stay safe Alberta YTers! I know the wind has been terrible there too which doesn't help. I work for an engineering firm and this was a big topic in our weekly meeting yesterday. I heard that anyone who refused to evacuate was going to be arrested. The pictures I've seen online are just devastating. We were just discussing how crazy it is that here in Sask and in Manitoba there is so much flooding, and right next to us in Alberta there are fires and it is hot, dry, and windy This has been quite a terrible spring for western Canada. I hope that fire is under control soon

YT Addict | To see what's been donated just in the last hour and brought to my place, go to Ashley Hanet Photography | Facebook I've received 4 more bags, 1 more box and have one more truck load coming tonight. Imagine if my home is this crowded how much stuff Salvation Army has... they have stopped taking in donations! It's going to be such a blessing to those in need. I'm currently sorting and folding everything into boxes by gender/age range. Thanks for the thoughts guys!

| It seems like there is devastation everywhere from one end of the spectrum to the other. The fire pictures are freightening! We are in a drout here in my area of Kansas, and the harvest is going to be bad because of it, but that seems minor compared to what others have had to deal with recently with fires, floods and tornados. Sending prayers and hopes for rain soon. Stay safe.

| I finally have a day off tomorrow and I got off work at 4, I'm going through my things tonight to donate. I also have brand new stuff in my basement for when I get my own place to donate those as well to someone who may need household items. As of today the wind has picked up again and there are two new fires in the Kinuso area burning out of control and the residents are being told to be ready to evacuate at a moments notice. I was also told that Driftpile reserve had a new fire start not long ago and they are on alert. High Prairie at this time continues to be fine, thank goodness. We currently have 1200 people that have been evacuated in town. I just pray no fires start or reach this area. I pray for rain. We have more help on the way to AB as well. In times like these it is something else to see people come together to help. |
