| Suggestions Please I have an 11 yr old spayed female westie that has been trying to hump my 14 week old female yorkie. I am trying to discourage it but any ideas on how. The westie does this during play time and doesn't seem to be showing dominance or aggression. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank You in advance,

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | It is dominance but not aggressive dominance. When dogs play they are trying to be "king of the mountain" so some dominant behavior will be seen like humping, pinning down, standing over the other dog, and trying to be "taller" then the other dog. Since the westie is 11 years old and the yorkie is 14 weeks, she is most likely teaching her manners and that she is in charge. a lot of times an older dog is an excellent "mom" for puppies. They teach them doggie rules and manners, and what is right and wrong. If a pup is too rowdy you will see them discipline the pup quickly.
