I love my Texas too....but, a couple of things I couldn't get use too; the hot weather and mosquitoes.
As Texans say there only two Seasons; Christmas and Summer

I'll add no one has hearts as bit as the people in Texas.

I love Texas. My mother was from Texas. I have to agree about the mosquitoes. They're bigger than I am!

But I love it that we do have seasons here. I love weather changes!!! It gives variety and a change in life. My favorite season in Texas is autumn, football, Texas State Fair, all the German fall festivals.

Hubby says the mosquitoes there...Are bigger than a turkey standing flat footed...We been to Houston once, had a blast....The mosquitoes are bad here in Florida too.

Now you gotta be crazy if you spend all day at Texas Stadium in 90+ Temp, at the Wallapalloza Concert....from 10 in the morning just to hear George Strait sing....but, there was Kenny Chesney, Tim Magraw, Dixie Chics, Asleep at the Wheel.....and so many more on one stage.....so great I did it two years in a row....

Ain't it the truth! Oh, we have died at Texas Stadium through some of the events, concerts, and games - once playing Miami or Tampa Bay back years ago, it was 93 degrees in our section after sunset! Never stopped us, though, did it? Ha! Course I have only been colder one other time in my life than a Philly playoff game w/Troy, Michael & Emmitt, when it was 22 degrees gametime and the damp, cold wind was ripping through our section and everyone stood the whole game screaming! Those were the days!

When I first moved there...I was so amazed that they closed down the freeway for football fan traffic.....

Now you're really Texas crazy if you head out to the Speedway....I lived approximately 1/2 from the Speedway....it took me 7 hours to get home after a race.

Oh I heard about the hail there. We had friends living in Houston in 1999 & 2000, and I remember them telling us...that it hailed there and most everyone in there area including them had to replace their roofs because of the hail...I was like holy moly

We don't get much hail here, Thank Goodness but...We are Florida the Sunshine State/Hurricane Alley...its been 6 years since our last one but its only a matter of time.

No matter what kind of you music you prefer, if you live in Texas, you have to love George Strait. I saw him the first time he played at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo...mmmm

Average roof life in Texas is maybe 10 years and that's if your lucky......

The Speedway's also a way of life for some Texans and boy, they swear by it!!! You either have a suite there, get there days before or sit in traffic all day. From what I've heard, no one there thinks he's wasted his ticket fee once the events are all over.
