| 37 weeks breech Anyone else faced with being breech later in pregnancy? Never been here before pregnancy with child #3, Dr. is discussing going into hospital for a turning of baby procedure and explaining that cesarean is the option if baby doesn't or cannot be turned. Of course I'm into the medical route when safety is concerned, but I'm also into hope floats and trying everything possible...anyone now of exercises (Dr. said acupuncture has been know to have an effect) movements anything to aid in hopefully getting baby to flip naturally?

| Both of my skin kids were breech. Of course that was 27 and 30 years ago. I had c-sections with both. Good luck because I know that there have been lots of medical advances since then.

| My 17 year old daughter was breech at 36 weeks. When I went to the hospital at 37 weeks to have her (high blood pressure) she had turned on her own. I don't even know when she turned - you think I would have felt it since she weighed 8 lbs 3 oz but I didn't feel it. I have a past history of being an OB nurse for 9+ years and we did versions (turning the baby) many times where I worked. Just from my own experience I can tell you it's a very uncomfortable procedure and some physicians are better at doing the version than others. Be sure you talk with your physician about risks involved because there are risks. Also, versions are not usually very sucessful. It's difficult to turn a baby, has risks with doing it, and very often if your doctor is successful in turning the baby it flips around again before delivery. Personally I refused to try the version and just thought I would do the c-section. I was very lucky she turned on her own. I'm not familiar with anything you can do to help the process along on your own but good luck. If you have to have a c-section they really are pretty easy to do now and you recover very quickly. | Thank you both for your responses. I've always known a c-section was a possibility, but never considered the "reality" of it until now...it's just the unknown so I'm a little unnerved by it. This Dr. is known to be very good at what he does...but lets say he's not the most "gentle" in my dealings with him...excellent "beside" manner vs expertise....he feels versions are the best option and was even open to my choice of a vaginal delivery but readily explaining those risks to me (I was like no safety first) but in my area Dr.'s are very used to dealing with "naturalists to an extreme at times" I am not one of them. I'm really hoping that he flips on his own, I spent a couple hours last night reading (one site was called flipping baby-seriously!?). I feel more informed on the risks of a version "flipping" but wasn't explained at the Dr.s that most flip back over a form of breech, but then again I'm still at the point of going back next week to check positions and then discussing option... I'm just always freak out over the unknown: it's a personal issue I have. If I don't have a mild compensation of something in the least I'm wigging out until I do. I have read a bit on c-section and talked the ear off everyone I know who has one, and I made sure that the Dr. and the hospital (in case it's for whatever reason another Dr.) that' the procedure it will be done at does the lower transverse double stitching c-sections as a standard but am not sure what else I need to know to check or be informed to make a decision on...I just can't stand not knowing maybe I need to make an informed choice on something and not knowing what that might be or even what questions I need to be asking. I thank you both for your responses it's nice to get another's experience and informed opinion when I'm feeling completely clueless over here...I felt both other kids flip over and this guy keeps doing cartwheels but won't go and stay down-I'm definitely feeling him move around (Dad is a lot bigger framed than I am and I think he's taking after Dad).

| When my sister was pregnant with my nephew he too was breech up until the very last week I believe. A C-section was on the table with hopes he would turn and he did Wishing you all the best because that little one is coming out one way or the other.

| My Daughter was breach and I had a c-section. To be honest it was the easiest birthing I ever did and I prefer it.

| My second child was breech and did not flip. So I did have a c-section. As the above poster stated, it was much easier than my first who was natural. When my third child came along, I opted for another csection due to I had the choice. However, don't think a csection wil be THAT easy. It's tough all the way around, but well worth it. |

| YAY...so far! Went to the Dr.s today after an very uncomfortable and sleepless night with baby turning all about-he'd not only head down he's quite lodged in there now...so that's good little stinker is a procrastinator... Might have to do another ultrasound to check his size though to ensure he'll well fit out...but it's not a major concern at all-just making sure he stays in this position and at least the stress of the unknown is over for now...and wow I slept comfortably for a whole 6 hours for the first time in months I swear! My edema below the knees, even seems to be less after him "fully flipping" wonder if he was smashing a vessel to my legs or something.
