On a good note, she said he is young and good looking so that will make it a "little" easier. LOL.

I'm sure she'll feel much better when it's over, better than she has in years. Young & good looking is a good anesthetic, too!

I had the same procedure done a few years ago and it wasn't bad at all. Between the Novocaine and the pain pills afterwards, I felt nothing. The worst part was mental.

Funny timing. I just went to my endodontist (yes, pathetically. I have my very own endodontist because I have had so many root canals) on Tuesday. I'm having a root canal (no big deal) on one tooth and an apicoectomy on another tooth a week from tomorrow. Root canals are somewhere between 90-95 percent successful at treating infected teeth. The remainder usually need oral surgery such as the apico because not even the best endodontist can always get all of the pulp out of the tooth because roots can be twisted or too narrow to reach.

My endo promises me that the surgery will not be painful although there will probably be some pain the next day. He gave me scrips for vicodin and amoxicillan and told me to have them filled before I have the surgery. And he says they will send me home with icepacks - if I use them as instructed they will help me avoid pain. Thank goodness Tallulah can go to Yorkie Camp for a fun-filled Saturday while I'm resting and sulking after the surgery.

I did google the procedure and read a lot of comments by people who have had it and didn't have too bad an experience. Even though I know intellectually that it will be ok - I'm freaking out a little about the aftermath myself. Please tell your daughter to follow all the instructions they give her about post-surgical care. And if she has too much pain, please don't post about it until after next Friday... <VBG>

LOL, you are tooo funny! Her surgery is not until March 30, so you're good. This dr. promised her this will be nothing in comparison to her previous surgery so I think she'll finally be able to put this behind her once it is over.

You'll be fine, I promise. My endodontist (yup, I've got one, too!) sends his patients home with a care package of soft foods. In case yours doesn't, make sure you've got soup, pudding, applesauce, etc. in the house for the first day.

The worst part is worrying about it!

Maybe Tallulah won't mind if I share her creamed rice and chicken. I just made a big batch of it last night.

Was planning on letting George spoil me for a day or two. And my sister will be standing by with the frappaccinos from Starbucks.

Right now I'm wishing the surgery was tomorrow instead of a week away.
