![]() There is a Dr who is supposed to be one of the Top Spine & Nerve Dr's in the US. Dr Filler in California has patients come from all over the world to see him. He has written several books, one is called ( Do You Really Need That Back Surgery ) So I don't think He cuts just to be cutting. I sent you a PM.

![]() I had herniated discs as well. It is a horrible situation. Extremely painful. I truly feel sorry for you. I tried it all except surgery. I took the epidural shots, Physical therapy, Chiro, chinese type medicine, and of course all the prescribed meds. Yes it is extremely painful and the meds dull the pain but it is still there. The meds make you extremely tired and nauseous. After almost a year of total inactivity, I found that what help me the most is to just simply ICE and rest. I never applied any heat to my back at all. I kept ice on it for almost 2 weeks straight. Even at work, I iced my back. The pain in my leg and back finally was relieved to the point where I didnt limp any more. I then began to perform pilates type exercises since my back stopped hurting. PM me for more info if you like.

![]() My heart goes out to you. Back pain is absolutely the one thing that will drive you out into the middle of the street looking for a truck. I have numerous issues all of which are degenerating. I, like mileydog, use ICE alllllll the time! I have about 3 different ice packs that are always ready to go. It does get discouraging but you have to out last it. Know that you are not alone and keep learning about the other options out there. Best wishes....
