Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Do you have any nonsensical / compulsive behaviors? I'm sure I have more than one , but this one is silly to me, and I've been laughing at myself over it: *When I'm about to get out of my car, I press the lock button on the door to lock all doors. HOWEVER, I can't just leave it at that and trust that it's locked. After I close the car door, I absolutely must press the button on my keyfob to hear the confirmation honk. I just have to hear that honk! I've tried not honking, and I can't do it. So silly. It's not like I'm storing diamonds in the car, anyway. Although, I do often have freshly purchased Target items in there, and we all know that's like gold. Does anyone do stuff like that?

| I lock my doors immediately after getting into my vehicle. I also wash my pots really good after cooking, but then when I take them out to cook the next day i wash them again before using I think that is very weird.. |

| Now that I am getting older and my memory and concentration are steadily deteriorating, I compulsively check and re-check door locks. My biggest compulsion is checking my bank card. When I leave a store, I check that the card is in my purse. I check again in the car. I check once more at home when I take out my receipts. I suppose this is only nonsensical in that I don't trust myself.

| That is unusual. Are you afraid of dust in your pan?

| Hmmm, I can't lock my door before I exit so I have to use the remote lock. I drive around the block to make sure I closed my garage door. I have yet to find that I didn't.

| I always check before I shut the car door at least twice to make sure the keys are in my pocket or brief case. Guess it comes with getting old. Then I always lock it at least twice before I am satisified to leave it. I think I am trying to drive myself nuts. LOL |

| Well I don't know how odd this is, but when I back out of the garage I hit the garage door remote and just sit there till the door is completely closed. And right before bed time we take the girls outside for a little while and even though I see all of them come in, and after I give fresh water and put pee pads down, I still look in all their beds to make sure they are all there before I turn the light off and go upstairs. Maybe this is more "being careful" than anything else?

| I don't know how many times I have left the house and after I turn off my road onto another I find myself trying to look back to make sure I hit the garage door button.

| If I have to start my car and then get out to scrape/brush snow off my windows, I get out of my car, check and pull on the manual lock to make sure it's unlocked for sure before I shut my door. I have this weird feeling that I'm gonig to lock my keys in my car! I have never ever locked my keys in my car, so I don't know why I have such a fear of it! I also check locks on the house bcause I always second guess myself. When I'm home by myself, I deadbolt the door as soon as I walk in, but I still go back to check it to make sure it's really deadbolted. I live in a small town where nothing is ever stolen (neighbor's kids leave stuff all over their lawn year round!) plus we have an alarm system, PLUS they'd need to break in the garage first before getting to the house... yet I still feel if something were to happen, it would happen when I'm home alone, and so I continue to check on everything!

| I have to check to make sure the stove is off even if I know I turned it off. And the lamp.. Once a couple years ago I left the oven on and left the house. We'll just say that coulda ended really badly! After I stop pushing buttons on my celly, it goes black after a few seconds. I constantly have to push a button to light up the screen and see if I got a text. And even if I'm staring at it the whole time, I still have to push a button to make sure.

| Door Locks are a BIG one, like you I need to hear the confirmation honk on the car- I often get to my car and then go back to my apartment door just to check that I really locked it. A weird one but I always check the shower before I go to bed- like to make sure no one came into the house, hid in the shower, and then stayed there for hours waiting for me to go to bed before they pounced.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I've locked my keys in the car while it was running. It was my first car (manual lock only) and I pulled into a parking spot, hopped out, manually locked the door - and shut the door. Yeah, um, car was still running.
