Guess it all depends upon how you see it. DH was thrilled to start getting "senior coffee" at McD's.

LMAO... That was a real kicker for me too. It just showed up one day, and so I ignored it.
BUT....... then....they just kept mailing them to me every week after, like I already had Alzheimer's...it was quite depressing!

Thanks everyone, you all have been so nice. I needed a pep talk today as I was feeling a bit axious. I do have many more years to go. I'm healthy, have 4 amazing kids, 4 cute fur-butts, and a great husband. My youngest is only 12 so I feel like my "babies"

still need me around. It's coming whether I like it or not so I have a choice. I can either be miserable or be happy. I choose... happy

I think I am really just missing my parents who are now deceased. My dad, who just passed in 2009 would call me and sing me the whole birthday song. I know they would be proud of me. Just feeling gloomy I guess.
But you guys are the best. Thanks!!

I hope you have a wonderful birthday! And I can identify; I'm turning 50 in a few weeks myself; and I HATED getting that AARP card in the mail.

My son still keeps me hopping; but I do wonder . . how it all goes so fast.

Considering people are living to 100 more often than before...just look at it as you have another 50 candles to look forward to in the future!

I so can understand your feelings about that wonderful big "50" I too have thought and thought about it as I get to be in that lucky "50" Club this year too. Try to plan something fun or maybe something you haven't done before just make it special...as special as you are and I know you will have a wonderful day. I am going to the mountains and staying up all night LOL until the next day...haven't did that ummmm since well you get the picture....Hugs

Happy Birthday! Surprise, it's my birthday too (Feb. 12th), only I beat you to 50. I think it's ok at 50 to start counting the birthdays backwards though, so next year you get to be 49, haha.

Happy 50! Let me tell you- its not that bad! I've had almost a whole year to get used to being 50--and now 51 is creeping up in another few weeks! At least we've got our little furbutts to take our minds off the "age thing"!

I remember asking my Mom when she started to feel "old" (she was about 55 at the time) she said that she feels exactly the same as she did at 5 years old!! Just a bit wiser
