I have used Priceline "name your own price" many times and love staying in the 4 or 5 star hotels at regular hotel prices!! Our best deal was for Vegas.....as we got a very good priceline price and we had arranged for two beds.....but when we checked in they only had king rooms.....so they upgraded us to a suite(actually a fairly big suite)!

Enjoy your trip and keep trying.....I start with a really low price and then just increase by $5 or $10 each time (every 24 hours) until I hit the "cap" I am willing to spend.

We ended up getting a hotel in Dublin this morning, another 4 star for $85. We then went to the regular site for that hotel and tried booking the same nights just to see, and it was $252 per night! So that was a really good deal. Unfortunately it was about the furthest away from what we were hoping for (the outskirts of the area we chose!) but I think it's probably worth it. The hostel we had planned to stay in was going to be $110 per night for a private room with shared bathrooms. Yup, I'd rather be at a 4 star hotel
