American Idol American Idol starts tonight.:) How many will be watching? I have my DVR set to record it. It should be interesting with two new judges. |
I'm gonna watch it! But will be setting up my DVR!!! I'm excited about the new season..only thing is I"ll miss Simon but gonna love Steven Tyler! I love Aerosmith!! Not wild about JLo but we'll see! Can't wait to see the new season! Donna |
I have always been a huge fan but not sure I will watch it this time. Might tune in the first week or so. But it will not be the same without Simon and I can't stand to look at Steven Tyler. |

I have never missed one episode of American Idol!!! I'm not a fan of JLo but sure loved Simon! I'll watch tonight, but not sure if I'm going to watch as diligently as before. |
I'll watch the auditions....but after that..i dont really watch. |
I always record every episode but I don't like the auditions that much. Some of the contestants are just so bad. I enjoy AI more when it gets down to the finalists. Some of the contestants they have shown on the previews sound pretty interesting. It does not matter to me who the judges are because in the end their opinion doesn't matter that much. I think Simon used to influence the voters a lot so with him gone it will be interesting to see who's opinion the voters will respect. Randy was usually pretty fair. |
I cant wait. Hope it is as good as it was. I too will miss Simon and Paula. But hey Im open minded. |
i totally blacklisted it last year because i hated Kara and hated Ellen and I hated IDOL for being the big fake thing that it really is (5 rounds of producers before you get to a REAL judge, cameras from 4am-3pm in your face bothering you, 15 sec. to PROVE ur worth it...it's a HUGE JOKE) however, i love JLO and i'm excited to try it again and see. so far...I'm LOVING the new judges. btw. yes i did try out, and I can tell you as a professional musician who performs with a real live band that Idol is all about a TV show and nothing really about actual talent, they leave a lot of amazing singers hanging and cut them and take a lot of complete idiots to Hollywood just to complete the SHOW. |
I watched it last night and I have to say I liked it....I thought I was NOT going to like Steven Tyler but I did.....I'll be watching again tonight....;) |
I will have to say that I loved it! I was really surprised too that I found Steven Tyler tolerable, but he was actually really funny. I always liked Jennifer Lopez. I think it may be ok this year.:) |

I watched it. I too thought that Steven Tyler was funny. I actually enjoyed it. I think it will be okay without Simon but I really did enjoy him on there. I think he is just one of those people that we love to hate lol. |
Im looking forward to watching this show and I think Steven and Jlo will be a more positive infuence on the show. Before the only reason some people even watched it was to see what Simon was going to say. Now the show will be more about the contestants which I think is good |
Even though i love Steven Tyler....did anyone find it creepy that he was making awkward comments to a 16 yr old? :eek: |

I watched both episodes yesterday and I thought is was pretty good. My husband liked it too. Steven Tyler did act a little bit to attentive to the young girls and I don't like his 'scream' but that is about what I would expect from an old rocker. Over all I liked how the judges seemed to get along. I will definitely be watching every week. Thank goodness though for the DVR so I can record and watch later. I hate all those commercials. |
I'm surprised so many of you are upset with Steven, I guess I didn't expect much, and he far exceeded my expectations, I really like him and he seems to have a good heart and really wants to be helpful, he doesn't seem mean to them, Randy has turned into the mean one! :eek: Simon use to flirt with the girls, and that didn't bother me either, he'd always get red, and I thought it was funny. Love Jennifer, she's such a doll, and she's having such a hard time saying no, this should be a fun year. |
I liked it also but I'm tired of all the sad stories. This is why I don't watch that home makeover show. Someone died, someone has no legs, someone was homeless, blah blah blah. Sorry to sound uncaring but I like to watch this show for the pure talent of these people. I like to see how they grow over the weeks. I don't want to hear everyones heartache. We all have heartache in one way or another. So far I have heard some really great voices. I love that chubby kid who is only 14 or 15. He sang "sittin under the dock of the bay". He was good and so real. Love the new judges. I'm excited for this year. I thought I would be bored because it is the same thing. I really like what the new judges have to bring to the table. Jennifer is cute, nice and is having a genuine hard time, but she is not loopy like Paula. I love the rocker edge that Steven brings. |
I missed the first one but thought it was a bit different without Simon just have to get use to the changes but like Randy & J not sure about S Tyler yet |
loving the new judges and loving the whole show this year. i also loved the 15 yr. old kid that sang the dock of the bay song. he's a doll and i can't wait to see him. the girl that sang a carrie underwood song so far is my fav. pic to go VERY VERY far. |

I have to say, I wasn't all that in to it yet this year. Then, I tuned in late last night, and the very last story was sooo touching. It was very emotional, and I have to say Steven Tyler's reaction to that girl just made me a fan of his. |
