i've always been a big fan of American Idol but never a fan of the auditions. i did tape them though and have wathced some of them. it wont be the same without Simon. i'm an Aerosmith fan from way back, so i like Steven Tyler, and JLo is ok too.
cant wait till the silly auditions are overwith. some of them people ... do they really think they are good singers. lol

I don't like it later in the season. They drag out every episode and it gets boring.

Anyone ever notice how some people start sucking all of a sudden once they get on stage?

I really didn't have much hope for idol without Simon. But, after watching it the last couple of weeks, I found that I really adore Steven Tyler. He seems really genuine. I think he will make a great addition to the show.

I really have beem amazed at the amount of 'kids' that are getting through to Hollywood this year. WOW, is about all I can say.

I think he meant that it could be his daughter, of course he was joking. He meant that in his career he has slept with tons and I mean tons of women, do you remember he found out Liv Tyler was his daughter much later on? I don't think he meant he wanted to get with her so to speak, I think he meant that he has slept with so many women that you never know there could be another child or many out there. It was the mouth I think that got him thinking about it. This is how I took it anyway :p
I also like him and J Lo a lot, I see a lot of compassion in J lo and I like that. :thumbup:

So far, I'm liking it much better than last year. The judges are great, and can't wait til auditions are over and some serious competition is going on.

He lives only a few miles from me. I've actually been to the Starbuck's that he worked at with his girlfriend. I was still in tears this morning thinking about their story. My husband and I both cried while we were watching. Steve Tyler pushed me over the edge when he hug her and said he boyfriends sings to her beautifully because he loves her.

Well, how many of you have been watching AI? It is now down to the top 24 and voting begins on Tuesday night. I have a couple of favorites but I don't remember their names. I really like the guy with the deep voice that sings country music. I was sad to see Chris go home. I pray he does well without AI. My husband said he was suppose to be releasing a record.

Overall I think the competition was good. I really like the way the judges seem to work together. Poor Jennifer Lopez having a meltdown. It would be hard telling some of those contestants they were going home.

still watching....upset that little 15 year old "chubby" kid went home. i loved him...favorites are the fuzzy guy that plays stand up base and the kid that sang Georgia who is an african american kid with a deep voice...oh and scotty the country singer i love him :D

I, too, thought the show was in big trouble without Simon but have been won over by the new crew. My wife and I keep telling each other "Simon would have NEVER let that person through ..." but I think they have some good talent in the top 24. Amazed that they made the cut on schedule because the judges don't seem to be as cutthroat as Simon.

I'm expecting a guy victory, and I agree with RachelandSadie about the fuzzy guy with the string bass. The judges sure heaped praise on him last night.

I agree...so much more talent than last year. I have not missed one season of American Idol, but last year I did not look forward to watching like in the past. This year I eagerly wait for each night's performances.

I haven't watched AI since the first season and I'm actually watching this season because I love the judges! I couldn't stand Simon and Paula was just stupid.

I don't remember names either but I like the girl w/ dark straight hair. I like the big black guy too but I hope he doesn't do the "loud" singing every single week.

Wow, those guys can really sing. I have several favorites. Some did not have the best song choices but you they still sang well.

Me too. Amazing talent and love the judges. I am a fan of AI again after kinda dropping off the last few years.

Great list, I'm just so blown away by the talent, and they are all so different and have so much to bring to the table. I'm loving James, Scotty, Stefano, Paul, Jacob, and Casey. Would have enjoyed Brett, but I couldn't get passed the shaking of his hair. I'm so surprised I love Scotty so much, I'm not that much of a county fan, but he just moves me.

I love James Durbin, he reminds me in a way of Adam Lambert and I'm huge ADAM FAN.

I also like Casey James as well.
