$425?? I wonder if that is what the lady was talking about doing to my hair? If so, I won't be having it done. My hair grows too fast for that amount of money! She wants to straighten it all over so she can style it evenly. I hadn't noticed the Smoothing on that link til you mentioned it. I sure hope that lady doesn't really think I would consider that. I did tip big, but it was Christmas! To answer the question why do those with curly hair straighten and straight hair curl? ....... (I already forgot who asked!) I would not mind curly or straight, but my normally straight hair has now gotten patches of curl and wave. Nothing consistent enough to use -- so I just have to fight it and work around it. My curl is hormonal I think -- thyroid removed. That is when I started with the weird combinations of waves & curls along with my usual straight hair. I have some curls so tight they don't look natural and other places look like the old fashioned finger waves (way before your time). The shorter they cut it the more it curls.

| Usually 15 to 20% so for $100 about $20 would be fair. Love the style and curl. Make sure she doesn't go too short and takes the curl into consideration with the length.

| LOL! Well a good curling iron would set me back about $100 anyway, and then there's me having to actually use it.

| Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Ive worn hair extensions for around 3 years now. They are all one length and come down to just above my belly button. I did have a side fringe but its sorta grown out now so I just have a random long fringe thing going on... I would LOVE to get something new and different done to my hair but I havnt got the courage. I wanted to cut it all off in a pixie cut but when I mentioned the idea to my BF he burst out laughing then went all serious and said dont you dare. ![]() I love the style you are going to get though, I think it will look great. My hair is naturally straight..ish, and through the day I usually just have it in a braid or a messy bun. Then on a night out I will curl it will heated rollers. I like having long hair because I like how it looks when curled with heated rollers, but I cant be bothered to curl it every day. I wish I just had hair that looked perfect when I woke up in the morning and I didnt have to do anything to it... *sigh* Please post before and after pictures, you may push me into doing something different!

| I'm thinking about canceling my appt. I'm having a really hard time justifying spending $100 +tip on myself.

The only reason I went 5 years ago was because my girlfriend needed a head to do a cut for a job at a new posh salon, so I was the guinea pig! Loved the cut but having long straight hair is just too easy to take care of. Although I do like the style in the pic you posted, very cute. | |

They where charged $10 for a cut and $37 for highlights. They also said there was an instructor that *closely* monitored what the students where doing. They said they didn't have to tip either. ..... I'm thinking of trying it out..... You could go and just observe to see if you like what you see first, then make an appt......

| I'm going to talk with bf about it. My old stylist is also very good, and only charges $20 for a cut, don't know how much he's charge for a perm too. But bf said this girl is just so good.
