i erase the entire message and reply in a blank space. am i the only one??

I reply "up" simply because I think it makes it easier for the recipient to see my answer.

I like to reply in a different color each time

I usually do this NeXT to the corresponding question/comment. Makes it easy to spot my replies.

But sometimes I just dont care because now that I have a MAC it is harder to change colors

It was confusing with my replies at the bottom, the other person's at the top.

Usually I erase everything but the part I am replying to.

I wonder this too. If it's a short PM that I'm responding to I think I usually reply on the bottom. But then if it turns into a lengthy conversation I reply at the top. Wow, that must be really annoying for people I'm corresponding with

I also usually just follow the other PM'er. If they top, I top....

I type at the top so they don't have to scroll down... I agree with the other poster who said they do it because they are used to emailing. I think it just makes it that much easier for the reader.

I reply on top usually. The new post is most important, and the longer they get the skinnier they get at the bottom. So if you reply down there, you make people scroll through all the past messages only to read narrow, hard to read type.

Of course, it's hard to follow a string of messages if everyone does it a different way.

! I have always pondered this too! I was always a bottomer, for the longest time. Then, when I got to know Nikki+2 (love her! miss her!), she replied at the top...and I was all WHOA. WHOA NIKKI! And then I thought, well I wonder if this is how I really should do it?

Now that you said that, yes it does! So, I will stick to the bottom. This is starting to sound like a completely different topic
