Black Friday SCAM at Walmart.

In the case of Walmart honestly I have never had a problem but I have with Target and have learned to have an item in mind about 30 days prior, price compare and be ready to buy early or later than Black Friday.

Perfect example is this year I am looking to buy a flat screen TV, I have been price comparing and thought I found the one I wanted on a pre Thanksgiving sale until I got an email from Target with an incredible deal. Well I took the Target deal, checked out online and was proud of myself until 2 days later (yesterday) I get an email saying "sorry we cannot fill this order). Lucky for me I went back and got the deal I wanted at what I consider a good price but it those tactics which make me mad, the deal which isn't a deal because they HAVE NONE.

Was that for the Westinghouse 40 inch LCD TV? We were going to buy that yesterday also but since I couldn't make it out, my BF could not make it to walmart and target at 5am so he missed the TV at Target. bummer!

Target had the itouch for 229 and you get a 30 dollar gift card. On line it was 199, so basically you were buying your gift card anyway

I just bought this console at Wal-mart in Canada though and it was $209 plus tax. It came with the controller, nunchuck, wii sports and mario game. I find it to be a great deal. Really funny that it's 249 in the US.

Wal-mart sells things online just like Amazon. Many times when you buy online via walmart or amazon, you are not actually buying from them, rather some one is selling ON walmart or amazon.

No it was a 32 in Vizio but all worked out in the long run, I was able to get the same TV at a better price. I heard all the TVs at Target in store went really fast - like people running to get them.

On a related note...

I found out online and store prices can be different many times. Sears, for example, has different prices online and in the store (Lands End included) almost all the time for more than a few things. I was told the stores and the online companies are essentially separate companies. Stores price things according to the area they're in (i.e. high-income v. low-income areas) and online goes by general sales across the country.

They find ways to get your buck.

Yeah, I found out years ago that Victoria's Secret not only prices by the area online, but in the catalogs. The catalog you receive depends on your zip code. If you live in a zip code with a higher income base the catalog you receive has higher prices than the catalog they send to someone that lives in a 'poorer' zip code, for the same items. I'm sure they aren't the only company that does that. Reverse discrimination. I think it's bull.
