This sounds great! I have a good start on my diet (dr. put me on low salt) and I can do the walking. I need help with a well rounded plan like exercises and stretches I can do at home. Where to start |
My suggestion on walking and stretching is try using the Couch to 5 K plan. You don't really have to plan to do a 5 K but you can learn so much by following their plan. Here is the link Couch to 5k - C25K Running Program and this site is also really good, gives you the schedule and some ideas for walking/running and stretching Cool Running | The Couch-to-5K ® Running Plan Remember you don't have to run to get the benefits, it is important to keep moving. I saw that someone goes to a Zumba class, that is FUN!!! I went to one once and it was great. |
i will be starting round 2 of insanity tomorrow. count me in. i already eat clean, so that's no biggie for me. |
If anyone else here is an Ipod/Iphone addict, there is a good free app called "lose it!" that helps you track your food and exercise. |
I'd love to join too. I really need to get motivated! Cathy |
So here's an update. I stayed "moving" today with loads of laundry, cooking and cleaning. Sunday will be my "day off." Tomorrow I plan to do my p90x routine. As far as what I ate: Breakfast: Shakeology shake and a pear Lunch: A little Wegman's fat free cottage cheese - did anyone watch Thintervention? Jackie said choose cottage cheese over yogurt! and I has apple sauce. Dinner: I made cauliflower soup with a little sprinkle of cheese and croutons. Yum I think I did ok. Please feel free to post your calorie intake....this is how we will do it together to stay motivated. PS the Buffalo Bills lost :( |
Follow the 3 W's! Weight Watchers and Walking. Naturally, eat smart, no junk, smaller portions. |
Just checking in....has anyone kept track of your calories or worked out? :D |
Treadmill, 45 minutes, and 15 minutes of weights in the basement. Tomorrow to the Health Club for 90 minutes, and a walk everyday with Carlo. |
I started the couch to 5k program. Didn't count my calories, but ate small portions of things that are good for me. Up until a year ago I ran 3 to 4 miles everyday, got lazy and surprise surprise---when you're 55, don't exercise and eat everything that doesn't run away---pounds creep up on you from nowhere! I'm glad to get started again. Thanks for the nudge I needed. |
I'll join! I've been trying to exercise more and it's hard to get motivated. Thank God I have a dog who insists on a walk of some sorts every day, however some days I get lazy and take him to the dog park while I sit on a bench! ;) This weekend I was really good. I walked Fri-today every day for at least 45 minutes a day, one day was an hour walk. I also don't eat very good for myself but have been becoming much more conscious about my food than ever before. |
So I accidentally committed to walk/running a half marathon  I think I best be joining that couch to 5k now..... |
I dont eat after 5pm. Drink 6 to 8 bottles of H2O, no sodas. Eat 5 small portion meals. Dropped 20 lbs in 4 months. Feels great...I think the water is a big key to weight loss. |
Tonight was weight training for me, started and ended with 10 minutes on the treadmill. Worked legs, shoulders, chest, arms and abs, tomorrow is Spin class. My schedule is; Monday - Weights, Tuesday - Spin Wednesday Weights Thursday- Spin Friday Weights Saturday- Treadmill (running) Sunday - Free day unless I ate a lot of crap on Saturday night then its running. I change my schedule about every six weeks but the Spin stays in. |
