| Sometimes people tend to ask a question - and in return - want an answer to that question - that is all. What I have found on this forum is that sometimes people go beyond just answering the question - and giving an unsolicited opinion. Sometimes (I do mean sometimes) some older ones (not age) tend to act as if this is the "good old boys club" and make the newbies feel like they have to earn their place on this forum. Sometimes, people on here forget their manners. I mean......... if I were in front of you - would you answer me the same way? A little bit of "putting the brain in gear before you put your words in motion" would help. And if you have been hearing about the meanness so much - well don't you think that it is true and that some people are offended? This should be a place where people are not afraid to ask a question - and you know........... it is. That is all. |

| I've been on this site for four years and I think the longer you are here, the more you will understand all the different posts, opinions, bluntness, etc.. and where people are coming from. Like others have already stated, it's a public forum with people from all over the world and everyone has different ways of expressing themselves. I know when I read posts and respond, I'm not only addressing the OP, but any one else that may be reading and looking for advice, education, info, etc.. I know for myself, I have certain pet peeves about things I see on YT and things that hit my buttons and I think that's true of many here. I think there are issues, posters, etc.. that need to be addressed and information needs to be made public. I came to the realization that not everyone uses this site for the same purpose and when people use this site in ways that I and others find offensive, I think people become very blunt!

People don't always give "just the answer to the question" because sometimes, that just doesn't give all the information that should be considered when addressing the problem. Also, more people read and learn from what is said than just the person who initially asks the question. Maybe it wasn't info the OP was looking for, but it may be helpful to someone else reading. It's the internet...a public site. When you ask a question, especially one that relates to a topic many feel strongly about, you are going to get a very wide variety of answers and information, not just the ones you want to hear. You can't control who posts what and how they go about doing it. If you can't handle that, then it's probably best that you don't ask the question to begin with. As I said in my reply, I do not only reply to the OP and I think that is the case with a lot of posters. A lot of people post questions and then never come back for the answers or responds, but this is a public forum and there could be tons of people that read that and are looking for answers and opinions. So IMO because one specific question may be asked, if it's on a topic and there could be helpful info passed along, I think it's important for that to get out there! I don't know about a "good old boys club", but I think the longer you are here and if you really read tons of posts on all different forums, you see the good, bad & ugly!

| I must add though - "I LOVE THIS SITE". Although the answers to some of my questions were abrupt and harsh - I did learn a lot - and I continue to learn every day that I am on here. I have had yorkies all of my life, and never have I learned as much as I have learned here. I just wish I had found this site earlier. |

| Somebody made the very good point that not all answers are meant just for the OP. You are also educating anyone else who reads that post. Thats what this site is about is education

| Lol! Steve, I seem nice, but once you take a closer look at me you can see my horns! KIDDING! I try not to give any power to the mean people I know, or as my wonderful mother would say, "kill them with kindness" Um mom, can I just take out the "with kindness" part?

| I agree with Hazelzmibaybee, asking for advice is not permission to be rude. I don't think anyone would be that openly rude to someone's face but feel free to over the internet. Didn't we all learn the old saying's "if you can't say something nice..."or "Do unto others...". |
