| No, you aren't overreacting. This site has some very judgemental and hideously rude people on it. All forums online have rude people, but some of the comments I've seen here are over the line, especially for people asking for advice. There are extremely nice people as well, don't get me wrong. But it is those unmoderated bad seeds that can color your opinion of the place...

| bribunny--I am very sorry that someone's comments made you feel bad, especially when you were undobtedly already worried about your little one. Generally speaking, when people complain about not liking the 'way things are' on YT, I always wonder "if you hate it so much, why are you still here?" Presumably because your positive experiences outweigh the negative. Otherwise, it would just be silly to stick around, right? I always just assumed that was the case with ANY internet site/forum. With a large site such as this, naturally there will be answers and beliefs from one end of the spectrum to the other. I see frequent post here that really irritate me, and I've certainly had my fair share that ruffled feathers as well. Not everyone is going to agree with you 100% of the time and not everyone is going to phrase their responses the way you think they should. So, you can look past what you disagree with and concentrate on the positive, you can dwell on it to the point of insanity, or you move on. Expecting everyone to change until there is overall harmony certainly isn't going to happen. Last edited by BamaFan121s; 08-18-2010 at 05:45 AM. |

| I only can say: "Wlcome to the club!" I guess most of the active members here have been bashed some way or another and it made me leave the forum for almost 2 years. Well... I'm back and learned to just pick the good comments and leave the bad ones like you do with apples... |

| Thanks everyone. This isn't a debate on whether the comment in question was rude or not. I understand everyone is titled to their opinion and you can fully express that. But, in my case everything had already been done and the comment gave little information for the future, and more anger against the decision I already made. That being said, I understand that when you post here you have to take things being negative. Like I said, I could be overreacting. I'm not here for sympathy, I just wanted to make it aware that we can express opinions without judging or making harmful comments to others.

| For all of you all I am saying is I can really see her point in getting a bashing!!!! And what you all have to remember is That you also had to get your information from somewhere be it here or somewhere else I also said if you would have read it Properly is that for the people who do Answer your questions you can learn a lot, I have Never been rude to anyone on this site ever however when I post about my new babies being born I don't expect a bashing either, it is a joyous time for especially as my new grand daughter was born on Monday also, I just wonder why people here can't be nice, well I do apologise about my comment it was uncalled for, I'm just sick of all the new people getting slated all they want is a bit of advice , that is not too much to ask for if you ask me , please. Remember breeders you were not born with your knowledge you have to learn like everyone else so If you don't want to give it give us all a break and don't reply at all. I would much rather have no replies to my posts than have someone be ignorant and uncaring I thought when I first joined here it would be a nice place to be getting advice and and general chat about yorkies I was wrong that's why I rarely post anymore and this week was the first in months and I only did because I wanted to share my joy of maggie having her 2 girls but just as usual there's always 1 or 2 who try to put the dampeners on it, well my girls are doing great 2 weeks old and half a kilo each if I have offended anyone about dressing up their dogs well I am sorry what you do to your dogs is your business |

| I've been a member here for a long time and I've definitely seen an increase in the bluntness of some comments. I think this comes mostly from the Breeding section, where I've been spending a lot of time for the last year or so. The reason for the hostility in the breeding section is the reckless and uneducated breeding of Yorkies with no consequence for their health and the futures of the puppies and I completely understand that! I mean, the reputable breeders try to help wherever they can, but they get tired of telling people the same thing over and over again. And they get angry when some abuses their dogs. Rightfully so! If you are angry, you may have the right to be angry. But that never gives you the right to be cruel!

I have NEVER, here on YT or elsewhere EVER seen anything but support when someone starts their journey as a breeder by adequately preparing themselves FIRST. It's the latter of the two--those who breed without prior preparation, thus putting their dogs at risk, that generally receive criticism. Honestly, I went back and read your first thread where your very small, young female and male had 4 'accidental' ties. After being here for a year, and learning more about the breed in the process, do you not understand WHY people were so concerned given the situation? | I would not let it bother me...not one bit. People here sometimes get very passionate about their opinions, and sometimes come on like a freight train. They might not realize how they are coming across.... or they might. Either way, each and everyone of us has been sideswiped, broad-sided, and smacked so many times by obtrusive comments such that if we were cars,,, well ,,,we would probably look like a 1978 Ford Pinto! The secret is to just extract the information that you need, and leave the "crumbs" (lol) to fall where they may. Ignorance and naivete can only be changed through education, not through rudeness and degradation. I would like to think that all humans will one day realize this. |
