I have the animal version of Dyson at both the barn and house and I love them! They are so light and easy to manuever. And they work on the hard floor and tile, in addition to the attachments being easy. Works well for me, and it is the ball version of the animal.

Maxman 08-13-2010 02:30 PM

Dyson is the best period! It really dosen't matter what model you get, their all the same, the only difference is the different attachments they come with. The more expensive ones obviously come with more attachments, but the vacumm itself is the same.

IamMiasmom 08-13-2010 03:44 PM

They really work!! I got rid of my others you know the one that sucks the bowling ball, and the kirby, the list of has beens goes on and on...

You know how those little tiny pieces always seem to wind up right against the baseboards? My old Hoover would NOT pick that stuff up. This Dyson schlurped it all right in....it was sucking up things before I even got the vacuum completely over the spot. :D

I did two small rooms last night (saving the rest of the fun for today ;)), and I think it took me about the same amount of time as it usually does. BUT, I was working it like a regular vacuum. I think once I get the hang of using that ball I'll be able to zip through much faster.

Oh, and the kiddos were too busy playing to even notice mom got a new vacuum. :p

I'm a happy camper this morning.

I knew you'd love it!:D Heck! You'll be vacuuming morning and afternoon.

PANAMA69 08-14-2010 12:03 PM

I have the animal one, for several years now, to be honest, I was not very happy with the price, but now after all this time, this vacuum does not loose any suction, is worth every penny:thumbup::thumbup:

shodanusmc 08-14-2010 12:19 PM

It will suck a golf ball thru a garden hose!

gemy 08-14-2010 12:31 PM

Now who called us Stepford wives..... Me I'm a Dogford wife:D

But I read something somewhere, somewhen, by some-one, (are you still with me for this very valuable piece of information??:p) that apparently after fifty years of new techno innovations, woman have only saved about 20 minutes a day of housework time. :thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown

and...you tell me!

I'm gonna throw an empty Centrum Silver package on the floor and leave it. Just to make myself feel better.

Then again..Bug come back here...Bug....BUG!!!!!!!

God I love you, will you host the AA of Cleaning Ladies of Yorkie Talk. Just think, you can save a bug or two, not to think about all those Dust bunnies:D

We still suffer under the misapprenhension, that with multiple animals there is someway, somehow, we will have clean homes again.

I admit, I'm a hopeless optimist, I surrender my cleaning bug to God or (Nana) that I will try my best to ignore the dust bunnies, the hair....dear God the hair......

I will not not buy another cleaning appliance agin!!:(

LOL reminds me of Al Bundy's Club, what was it No Ma'am. For no women..something like that... We'll have to come up with something equally catchy in order to lure in the unsuspecting..

Bugs,,,HAH, I once stopped a wolf spider dead in its tracks with an entire can of Aqua Net hair spray. 25yrs ago, 'twas all I had on hand. Looked very weird slowing down then freezing with some legs up, some legs down.

Did you know that if you lightly spray paint cobwebs, in place, they are beautiful additions to a nautical beach cottage decor as mini fishnets? Lots of ideas here, maybe not as cheap as a 1/2 price Walmart Dyson but.....just sayin.

I do the SAME thing with hairspray!! Although my first encounter with a wold spider met a little more traumatic ending for him ;) I was scared sh*tless cuz I just moved to Florida and had never seen one before. He was hiding on my dark purple rug  I threw not one,not two....but THREE text books on top of him and STOMPED

I love this idea! Decorating with Dirt :sidesplt:

SophieKatesMom 08-15-2010 07:55 AM

I saw that Costco had them on sale also last week. I am heading there in a few minutes and will look.

I thought of this thread yesterday when my Dyson fell on my HEAD!!! I was vacuuming the stairs and stupid me had the base of the unit in front of me - well I pulled the hose a little to far and bang.

Warning if you vacuum the stairs put the vacuum BEHIND you.

 one of the reasons I've never exercised was a deep and abiding fear of sports injuries. You don't get shin splints in your recliner. But, omg, I never, ever thought seriously about cleaning injuries. You poor woman. There needs to be medical research on this. I'm sure there is a foundation and grants available. I'm just devastated.

PS the vacuum should ALWAYS be at the BOTTOM of the stairs

The coolest one I have is the dusting attachment. Yep, it's real soft and sorta looks like a swiffer duster. You hook it to the end of the hose, turn on the suction, and you can suck up the dust off of your coffee tables and end tables!

I'll probably wait until I have something else to order from Amazon and get it from there to save on shipping....unless someone else knows a better place to get it? I wonder if any local stores carry Dyson attachments?

Ok, I just ordered this accessory bundle from Amazon - I thought $53 was a good price for all three attachments. Amazon.com: Dyson Allergy Cleaning Kit: Home &...Amazon.com: Dyson Allergy Cleaning Kit: Home &...

Good choices! On the first link...If I'm correct...the long piece in the middle that you attach all the other doohigies too? You will LOVE it! That darker section you see in the picture is flexible. So if you need to get into an odd space or area it bends for you and let's you get right in there!

Are you having fun yet?

That's the same impression I got from reading about it. I couldn't choose between this bundle and another one they had that also included the soft dusting brush. The little flex-thingy is what finally decided me. :)

So far I've only vacuumed the floors, I haven't tried any attachments. I think the fun might start when I use those... ;)

Does anyone have an opinion ot the multi-angle brush attachment, or are there other attachments you really like for your Dyson? :)

I got it at Bed, Bath and Beyond....they have 20 percent coupons that they will honor forever...no expiration date.

I Love my Dyson. I have the purple animal with the ball. Very easy to move and vacuum with GREAT suction.

Wow! Awesome Customer Service

I have a Dyson Animal, and over the weekend my husband broke the belt (yes, he vacuums, LOL), so I called today to order a new belt fully expecting to have to pay for it. Dysons have an awesome warranty, 5 years, I think, but I didn't expect routine parts to be included. Not only did I not have to pay for anything, but they are sending along some other parts they say should be replaced based on the age of my Dyson (3 years, 4 months). I am so impressed.... I loved my Dyson before, but I love it even more now....

Wow, now that's impressive! I'm glad to know that. Thanks! :)

I guess I should post an update on my new Dyson. It is terrific! I've used a couple of the attachments that came with it and they were awesome....can't wait for the others I ordered to come in any day now. The suction through the hose/wand is phenomenal - I have to be careful with it. :p

To sum it up - I love it! Thank you everyone for all the great input. :D

love & hate relationship w/my Dyson

I got the Dyson animal 3 yrs ago when my great pryenees was a baby. I love it and hate it. I know not everyones dog sheds like my gp so I take that into consideration too. Mine clogs w/his fur around the belt gears so I have to take the brush off and unclogs it every other time I use it. Which is a pain. If I didn't have the gp id love it as the suction really cleans the carpets.

Nancy1999 08-29-2010 01:55 PM

Bonnie thanks for starting this thread, and Sherry thank you so much for your review. I was tempted once before, but when I got to the store there were two purple animal Dysons, and I didn't know which was the one everyone loved, so now I know! I just had to run out and get one, but now I'm too tired to try it (it's hot here). With the 20% off coupon from Bed Bath % Beyond, it was a better price than Amazon, so thank you everyone who mentioned that fact. What would I do without YT. I would have loved this as a birthday gift, does that mean I'm old? :D
