Funny thing is.... when I opened up yr thread just now, top advertisement said: Need a New Ride? Dyson vacuum advertisements up top!! |
I have a Dyson and I loooove it! My husband was pretty amazed by it too. We vaccumed with our old one and then the Dyson when we first got it and Wow! We had been living in so much dirt! LOL I definitely recommend it and if this one ever dies, I will definitely get another one. |
I can remember that I didn't sneeze nearly as much after having the Dyson as I did before! |
We have been using a Dyson for years its fab :) |
This is the best darn sweeper in all the land. They come with a pretty good price tag, but they are worth every penny! I have "The Animal" version. The suction is fantastic. And you can use it on hard floors because you are able to turn of the brushes. The hose is forever long. I can put my sweeper at the bottom of my full staircase and attach the stair cleaner to the hose and walk all the way to the top of my steps without having to carry the upright part of it. If you have carpeted stairs and an upright vacuum cleaner, you know what I am talking about! The handle pulls out with an telescopic tube on it that can reach all the way up to the top of my curtains. I say GO FOR IT! You won't be disappointed! PS: Yep, I've had Hoovers. With over 3,000 SF of carpeting in my house, I would go through a sweeper a year. I've had my Dyson for 2 years and it works as good as the day I got it. I get it "serviced" once a year. Costs me $35 and that's it! |

I'm going to BB&B to *look* at vacuums at lunch. After thinking about this all day yesterday, I went home and got out my Hoover which is a few years old and bottom of the line. It's been making a funny noise, a high pitch whine that gets louder and faster the longer it runs....sometimes I think it's going to blow up. :p If I talk myself into a new vacuum right now, it will be a Dyson. I'm hoping that BB&B will have them on display so I can get a feel for how much they weigh, how maneuverable they are, etc. Since it could be returned, I may go ahead and buy one to try out. I still don't know! Sorry for the rambling confusion.....:p |

If you take it home.....it WILL stay there ;) if BB&B doesn't have them on display....Target does :D |

Ok, so I went to BB&B to *look* at vacuums. My store had 6 Dyson models on display: the DC14, DC24 (ball), DC25 (ball), DC25 Animal (ball), DC28 Animal, and one other I can't remember. I took them all off the shelf and pushed them up and down the aisles (I was the only customer in that part of the store ;)). I realized fast that I preferred the ball models for their manueverability and the smaller brush heads....the larger heads on the regular models would never fit under most of my furniture. I didn't like the feel of the DC24, the handle and the height felt wrong to me. I loved the DC25 Animal, though! And it came with an extra attachment that the regular DC25 didn't offer. The wonderful saleslady (store manager) undid their security features and let me take it in the back to plug in and try it out. I was sold! But....they didn't have any in stock. They'd sold the last one since I called yesterday. :( So, she offered to order it for me and wave the shipping costs. I told her I'd really like to have it now and I mentioned going across the parking lot and asking Target if they'd do a price match on it. And she offered me another 5% off the regular price if I would order it through her store. That meant I saved another $27 so I let her order if for me. :D I have to wait a few days for it to get here but I'm ok with that. |

One more thing I forgot to tell you. And it is VERY IMPORTANT!! Get the model with the "ball" technology. There is a ball where the handle connects to the flat part of the sweeper. A slight flick of the wrist and that sweeper turns on a dime. No going front, back, front, back, front, back, just to sweep under a chair. This handle takes a bit getting used to, but you will LOVE IT! |

I would have recommended the Animal with the Ball. Good Job! I'm glad you are waiting for it. It's worth the wait! |

Hang in there...it'll be here soon. :D Did they say how long it will take? |

I guess the old Hoover will have to last a few more rounds. |

Oh... another cool thing with these. When you put them in the upright position but leave them turned on....the brushes stop moving but the sweeper keeps running. Very cool! I have enough "brush burns" on my stairs from my old sweepers. |

I have a dyson animal, I love it.. I have owned a Kirby and a Rainbo, but the dyson is by far the best. |

Do all of us who own these Dysons have the "Animal"?? I guess it would make sense on a :aimeeyork:aimeeyork forum :sidesplt: |
Yep, I have the Dyson Animal! |

ANIMAL...I keep picturing the drummer on the muppet show running around saying ''woman, woman''. We have a dyson, but I don't know which one it is. It is not a ball. It is one of the small ones. We were at Home Depot a couple years ago and it was on a clearance rack as a floor model marked down. Never used but dusty and no box available, as is for like $75. I just knew Dysons were expensive and bought it. I do not vacuum at all. I have no idea how it works. DH does all that and he loves it. Says it is the best vacuum we've ever had, so I guess that means it's pretty good. |

I had hoovers that would burn out every other year. Can't count the number I went through. I bought the Dyson, but ended up taking it back. For the price, it didn't pick up any better than the hoover. I finally ended up with an Oreck that I love. Plus it has a 10 year warranty. I have to take it in once a year to have it professionally cleaned (free), but if I need it, I can bring it in once a month. The price of the bags is the biggest draw back, IMO. |

FYI....our Wal-mart has started carrying Orek bags. Think I paid about $7 for 3 bags.....much better than the Orek store - plus I didn't have to drive 45 minutes to get to Wal-mart. Bonnie....enjoy you new vacuum! I use a dust mop on my stained concrete floors. I've got an Orek and a Rainbow, but Razz likes chasing the dust mop....so, even though it's more work to use, it's more enjoyable watching him have fun:D |
