Anyone use Hoover FloorMate?

My Floormate arrived late yesterday afternoon. I just put it together and did a small area. The mop part picked up wayyyyy too much dirty water, but I think my regular vacuum (also a Hoover) does a much better job vacuuming. Does anyone use the Floormate just for mopping?

I didn't know there were attachments!! I just found out the the floormate is too wide to get in beside and behind my toilets. The ad I ordered from said I was supposed to get a free hand-held unit ($90 value) but it wasn't in with my order yesterday. I emailed Hoover to see when it would be arriving. Maybe that's all I need to get behind the toilets and get to other small spaces?

I've got to get back to using it....just taking a little break. I'll let you know how I like it in a bit.

I have tile in my kitchen, both bathrooms, laundry room and foyer. None are very big rooms, so I need something that will get into small spaces like around toilets, under cabinets, etc. I am very lazy about hooking up attachments for every room.

I would love a little *free* $90 attachment Too bad for me Oh well. I love it for what it is.

BTW....I vacuum with my dyson or sweep with a broom before cleaning - just easier for me

I took the shark back yesterday because in the manual it says not to use on waxed floors. My terracotta floors have to stay waxed all the time. I ordered the Haan MS30 steam cleaner. I called the company to ask if it can be used on terracotta waxed floors and they said as long as I'm useing the tile polish and not a paste. Now I'm wondering if that Shark wouldn't have worked too.

Gross, gross, GROSS!!!!

I've been on staycation for a few days and I thoroughly mopped the entire house on Thursday afternoon. Now, I CANNOT believe the dirty water this floormate is picking up - it's DISGUSTING!! Have I mentioned that my ENTIRE HOUSE is stained concrete? This is just.....yuck!!

This afternoon, I used the floormate first on the guest bath and the little area outside it - because those areas are rarely used. The water was pretty dirty there.

But then, I did the main hallway and the kitchen - YUCK!! I'm so embarrassed. My floors looked clean, but this shows just how dirty they really were. And this was after I vacuumed really well - twioe, just to be sure.

This does get into pretty small areas and easily gets under counters, but it's too wide to fit easily between the cabinet and toilet. I think for this next bathroom I'll just lift it back there and see how it does. Otherwise, it's fit everywhere I wanted it to go.

Ok, that's a long enough break. Now I'm gonna go see how bad the rest of my house is.

I can't imagine what the dirty tank water would look like if I used the Floormate in my laundry room. I've got my kitty litter boxes in there and even the Swiffer pads get filthy from the clay dust.

I tried to lift the floormate behind the toilet and no go. It would only move an inch or so in any direction. So, I either need the hand held unit they promised me, some attachments or my good old mop to get to this area.

Otherwise, I am VERY impressed. I just did my master bath and my bedroom. I think I'd better do the whole house again tomorrow.

I was so shocked I sent friends PICTURES (Hence the Dirtarita pics ) It is SO GROSS what the mop leaves I will never go back to a string or sponge mop again

NO!! I dumped that nasty water as fast as I could. I'm trying to do the entire house once, then (if my aching back will let me ) I'm going to do it all again tomorrow.
