This is the one I ordered... Haan MS30 Steam Cleaner, Multi-Function Sanitizing Steamer - Vacuums & Floor Care - for the home - Macy's |
I have had the Floormate for almost a year now and totally love it! I use Tile Lab Tile and Grout Cleaner from Home Depot. I use the cap on the Floormate to measure 1.5 caps in a tank of hot water and it does a fantastic job on my tile floors!! I have used every mop imaginable and also used a steam mop and nothing compares to the Floormate. By far the cleanest ever ... mops are disgusting imo....all you do is slap the dirt right back onto the floor. ick |
Yesterday I ordered the Dyson Animal thu our BX, and today I went to Wal-Mart and bought the Shark for 49 dollars. Now I'm afraid after reading this thread that I'll hate it. I'm definately not going to use it on my wood floors, just the Terracotta tile in the dining & kitchen. Hope I don't hate it. Just thought it would be better than the sponge mop I've been useing. |
Anyone have the Steampocket Shark? I have some Facebook friends who love it. Buy SharkŪ S3505 Steam Pocket Mop for Only $159.80 + FREE S&H & FREE Portable Steamer!| Official Site |
I don't care for the steamers. You still have the same thing going on....pushing the same dirty stuff from place to place. The pads need to be changed constantly! With the floormate, all of the dirt goes into the dirty tank! |
I have to agree with LadyJane. I had the shark steam mop and now the Haan. The Haan works great with clean floors for a quick in between cleaning or to sanitize a spot or two. I've had the hoover floor mate for many years - actually, I'm on my second since I burned the first one out using bleach in it. Anyway, I recently bought the stuff at home depot that LadyJane told me about and I thought it worked great on my tile. At first I thought it left a film but once it dried it looked great. No powerful smell to it either. I also like to use the hoover floor-to-floor since I have hard woods throughout my home and this can make it easier. I just love my Hoover Floormate - I don't know where I'd be without it. |
I like the Shark steam cleaner, but it's not for big jobs. I like that it sanitizes and doesn't use chemicals, and it works great for in-between cleanings. I also have the Hoover SpinScrub, which does a great job. I agree that it doesn't get the edges and corners, and the vacuum isn't that strong, but it sure does clean, and without putting it back on the floor. :thumbs_up |

I've had the Dyson Animal for about 6 years - it's still my favorite vacuum I've ever owned. I don't use the attachments much though. |

Do you need the attachments to get behind toilets, etc.? Attachments are such a pain, but I am too old and lazy to get down on my hands and knees to clean hard to reach places. |
I don't have the one with attachments. I'm still doing the on my knees cleaning behind my toilet. |
I don't have the attachments either. Knowing me, I would still be cleaning behind things on my knees anyway  so I save myself a step! :D |

Our one bathroom has tile that runs behind the toilet and sink halfway up the wall. I've even used it to clean the splatters from the toothpaste and stuff~~kids  Since I broke my arm last year I have a really hard time getting down on my hands and knees to clean. :( I don't have the flexion like I use to when it comes to this type of cleaning so I really like how the attachments work. There had been a lot of cleaning that I am no longer able to do and the Floormate has really helped me. :) |

Are the attachments something that can be purchased separately to be used with a model that came with none? I bought mine new in the box from Craigslist ~ I never thought I needed attachments - now I'm wondering. Thanks ~really..... a lot :D |
