My computer has been doing some strange things too, and with so many people having problems, I bought carbonite the other day, so at least I now have all my files backed up. It's also running so slow...thinking of having Matt do a diagnostic on it. Today my SIL called and her computer has crashed. I've never heard of so many people having problems.

I swear I'm not doing this, its just viruses and spyware are just on a big increase right now, specially for window XP machines

This started way before we were introduced to you.

It does seem like so many more people and computers are being affected in recent months.

and girl - I wouldn't wait - that was my mistake. I was too nervous to get into a complete overhaul knowing I don't have a windows CD and I waited and tried to fix my own computer - then boom - woke up the other morning and I was 10 times worse off when I tried to get on - the longer you wait the more problems you'll have .....believe me - I just went thru it and it sucks

and lol Matt - ya....it's all your fault !

Seriously though - it sure does seem lots of people that we know online are having problems. The people who make all this stuff to screw us up need to all BEND OVER.

i was having trouble the other week i was told it is internet explorer was told not to let it update so you might just need to do run your virus protecting and don't let internet explorer update it has been asking and i tell it no have not had any more trouble

That isn't a real fix, you have to let IE upgrade or you won't be able to do Windows updates, then you get security risk, then your computer gets infected with the plague. If you would like we can setup a Diagnostic session.

Hi Matt...I keep getting a pop up that says I have to reboot my computer for AVG to finish the update. This has never happened before, so I wonder if it's a virus. I haven't clicked on it to reboot...just x it out and it comes up often. Last night when I closed down my computer, I figured that would work as the reboot they needed, but today it is still popping up. I want you to have a look at my computer, maybe next week, and let me know what you can do with it. Before I have you look, should I probably clean up some stuff like my desktop? I've got such a mess.

That is not normal at all, and yes, I think it might be some kind of virus or malware, Icons don't bother me, I would maybe clean out my cookies. Just let me know when you are ready for me to look at your computer

My update after working with Matt at Remote Tek Support

It's been days now since he fixed me up and my computer is FASTER and not one issue - it's working just as it did when I first got it YAY !
