| Proactive? I thought I'd try Proactive- I don't have an awful complexion at all- just mild acne from time to time- especially when I am under a lot of stress- which I was at the end of June. Anyways, I thought I'd try Proactive. I have the sample size- and I think I really like it. For those of you that have used it- how long does it take to notice a significant difference? I have only been using it for about 4 days. I want to buy the regular size bottles, but wanted to ask how long it will take to see a difference. Thanks all! |

| I first tried Proactive about 10 years ago and I can say it was the only product out there that prevented my occasional bad breakouts! The results vary person to person , but as I remember, it took about a week to 10 days to see visable results. The best thing about it is the prevention of future breakouts if used regularly. Just stick with it. |

| I started get hormonal breakouts in my later 30's, I can't use the whole system, I find it to irritating, and can only use the BP every few days, but I find it clears up a minor blemish fairly quickly, within a couple of days if I just spot treat. That's my experience.

| I used Practive several months ago. I really liked it and was going to be a continued customer but never received my second shipment. I called several times and finally was told it was out of stock and my order was on backorder. It was going to end up being about 6 weeks without any product. I felt they had terrible customer service. I hope you have better luck with them than I did. |

| My daughter has had wonderful results with NeutrogenaID. I feel that it's much more geared toward your individual needs. You answer a bunch of questions regarding your skin type and problems and it figures up a special formula for you to use. You can google for coupons too. There should be a $10 off your first purchase out there still.

| My one sister SWEARS by it, but two of my other siblings have tried it and haven't had much luck. I just started using it last week because I had an odd break out (generally my skin is pretty decent) and one of my siblings left the cleanser and the moisterizer at my place. I just have beent using a different tone (a Mary Kay one that I found under my sink). Anyways, I have been impressed so far. I put a facial sunblock on with it as well in the morning. That helps add some extra moisture. But I think it might be a bit strong for continual use. But be careful, I once got a miniscule drop/splash of the moisturizer on my favourite top and it BLEACHED it! |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | I tried Proactive a few years ago and it made my skin red and irritated. it was just too harsh for my sensitive skin. I use Clinique Acne Solutions Cleansing Bar for Face and Skin at night, along with Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 (i don't know why its called a lotion, i think of it as a exfoliating toner), and Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Stress Control 3 in 1 Hydrating Acne Treatment as a spot treatment when i feel a zit coming out (i usually get the red under the skin zits that hurt when you touch them). In the morning I use Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Stress Control Power Clear Scrub in the shower. this is the best routine that i have found for my skin. I started breaking out in middle school and it continued throughout high school. i tried every product on the market and went to a dermatologist to get prescription products too. None of that stuff worked. Then I went away to college, got on birth control pills, and started using Clinique. I think both of those things helped a lot.

| Proactiv worked wonders for my younger brother a few years back. It cleared up his skin completely within a couple of months. I think that now they have a sensitive skin version available too...I remember it being a little harsh on my skin the few times I would borrow his. But it really did help him!

I honestly think that like all products, there is no one miracle product. One works for some people, and another works for some others. Sometimes you just gotta keep on trying till you find the one.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i made a nice bleach stain on the carpet in my old room when i was in high school from one of the many acne treatments i was using. you gotta wonder if these things are really good for your skin if they can strip the color out of any fabric. LOL My pillow cases used to be the same way because of the night time treatment on my face.

| HOLY COW!!! No wonder my pillowcase is bleached! And my facial towels!!!! Ugh!!! I used Proactive for years, & just like you, I didn't have bad acne, but some minor breakouts during that time of the month. It works great as long as you commit to it. I never used it 2x a day, I always only used it once a day in the evenings. I liked it, esp the toner, I could see the dirt coming off. Nowadays, I have stopped using it b/c I think I'm immune to it now. I NEED to scrub my face or else I feel there is nasty build up so now I'm using St Ives Apricot Scrub or Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit w/ Neutrogena Deep Clean facial wash scrub and love it. I'm not going back to ProActive now that I know it bleached my expensive linens!! Sheeesh!!!! It's also super $$$$$$$$$ expensive!!! -Smiles- Viv

| I have been on Proactive for a couple years now and have always been happy with it. However, I don't use the entire system (face wash, toner and moisturizer) so I now just purchase the face wash from the vending machine at the mall. It may be pricey, but it's the only thing I've found that consistently clears up my skin and keeps it that way. Good luck in your search
