| Nope, But, did host an exchange student from there. Completely different dialect of Spanish is spoken there (Catalan). And from the countless stories he provided us with. Barcelona is a very old city, very lay back and casual. The do operate as other Mediterranian Cities. The long lunches the Siestas and late night dinners and dancing into the early morning hours. Cooking is very seafood fare. Paella, etc.

| Those that have not been to the states, have a different slant on Americans. Our boy went back with a whole different perspective. Boy are raised in the ole world style.....Boys don't do womens work. The maturity level of young people is a bit slower than those kids in the states. We learned so much from him and he us. By the time he left the states, he had learned how to cook, share in the chores, knew how to do his laundry....And understood, there is no mens work and woman's work seperation.....

| Pictures that he shared with us.....Very Moroccan in their architecture. The do consider themselves the elite of Spain....very savy business people and in our boy's discription....Jewish. I laughed at that one.....as they consider the Jewish people very smart and wealthy.

| I got my BA in history, and my specified region was Latin America. Since Spain played a huge role in shaping Latin America, I read and researched a lot about it. I wish to go there someday and soak in the history. It must be amazing! I don't know what I'll eat while I'm there, I don't enjoy seafood.

| Three years ago I spent a week in Spain - 2 days in Madrid, 2 days in Girona and 3 days in Barcelona. It is beautiful! I love the old gothic style buildings of Barcelona. That's the area we stayed in. Loved the cathedrals and the narrow winding alley/streets. It's like it's own little world before you walk out into the "city". It's a very busy city. We were so tired from sightseeing that we spent the entire last day on the beach that is literally the edge of the city. The water was wonderful. I think You will love it as much as I did.
