| Sketchers ShapeUps vs Reebok EasyTone When the Sketchers ShapeUps came on the market, I thought "how great! Shoes that will help shape my buns while I walk with Kaji!" Honestly, the only thing that was stopping me from looking into them was the fact that they're really ugly. I thought I'd wait until they make them less platform-y. But then Reebok came out with the EasyTone. I love the way they look! So, what do you think ladies? Would you give either pair a try? In case you haven't seen them:

| I have the skechers and LOVE them. I can't say that they helped with toning, but they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. I have plantar facitius and these shoes are one of the only ones I've had that didn't hurt my feet. Can't comment on the other ones. |

| I agree with you about the Sketchers, I thought they were ugly also because of the platform. I researched the Reebok easytone, I bought a pair at Christmas. they were almost impossible to find because they were so popular even the Reebok warehouse sold out. I liked them so much I bought another pair last month. They are still very hard to find in stores. They now have a Reebok easytone for running that has better support on the bottom. I can tell some difference in my butt and legs when I wear them for walking, unfortunately I don't walk as mush as I should. Just my opinion. I have friends that like the Sketchers.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I got some Sketchers ones for Mother's day and she loves them. Says they're so comfy when walking. Mom's vote is for the Sketchers.

| I'm definitely going to be getting my mom some of the sketchers. I looked up plantar fasciitis and how it affects the foot, and I'm very convinced this will take some of the pressure off my mom's heal, which is what hurts her the most.

| JPop & Taz2 started a thread similar to this one, and I posted this on her thread... fyi... (This was from yahoo news) Fitness Shoes Francisco Orellana/istockphoto The Rip-Off: Reebok calls it the EasyTone; Skechers, the ShapeUp. These curved-sole shoes, transforming people into human rocking chairs, cost up to $130 and promise to keep you fit even while grocery shopping. During 2009 sales grew 14-fold to $245 million, estimates market researcher NPD. One problem: "They mostly affect the foot and ankle," says Dr. Michael Ross, director of Rothman Institute's Sports Performance Lab, which counts the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Flyers among its clients. "There is no evidence they will help you tone better or quicker than a regular shoe." How to Avoid It: Join a gym. --Christina Settimi I was seriously thinking about getting the ShapeUp shoes, but after reading this article, I changed my mind. I didn't care about the way they looked, if they worked, but apparently neither of them do.

| Thanks for the article. I guess I won't be spending any money, except for the shoes for my mom. If they bring her relief, they'll be worth every penny.

| Despite the negativity, I did buy the Skechers...and I love them! Like another poster said, they're not very pretty, but they sure are comfortable. And as far as my butt....well, so far no luck there. But I do like them and I don't regret buying them.

| I have a pair of shape ups. I got them because I have problems with my knees and they are suppose to be less stressful on your joints. I love them! I just ordered a pair of the sandals tonight. Two thumbs up from me |
