| What is the best school made gift your child has given you for Mother's Day??? Hi MOMS!!!! I am a Kdg teacher and have used just about every idea in the book during my 9 yrs teaching for making crafts with my lil ones to give to their mom's on Mother's Day!! Can you help me with some new ideas? Have/has your child given you something they made at school that just made your heart melt? Did they give you anything you just cherish or use on a daily basis. I want a REALLY GOOD craft idea. I've been all over the internet, but can't find that perfect project idea to make with my kindergarteners. Let me know if you have ideas your kiddos have made for you.....somethign creative and different!!!!! THANKS A BUNDLE!!!! Vivian

Donating YT 500 Club Member | For this one the teacher had to start early in the year I'm sure. She had the kids plant flower seeds in cleaned out milk cartons, I think sweet peas. As the plants grew she taught them science lessons about plant life. Then as Mother's Day was near, they decorated clay pots for their flower plants. I remember my son telling me, the teacher taught them about how children are like seeds, with love and nourishment they grow into beautiful adults, like the flowers grew from small seeds to beautiful flowers. More than that though, I love my collection of handmade cards with their drawings. With bits of lace, buttons, glitter, coloring and printing only a small child can do....their printed words still get me teary eyed.

| There have been so many, you probably did most of them but the one I cherish next to my heart was from my granddaughter who is now 23. LOL I think it was 2 or 3rd grade. The teacher put the letters GRANDMOTHER in a row on a piece of paper and after each letter the child had to think of something that started with that letter that relates to their grandmother. The first R sticks out in my head because she said she and her GG (me) rakes leaves together and she get's to jump in them while GG covers her up. It was beautiful and I framed it. It hangs still in my kitchen. Perhaps you could use the word Mother but you would have to write for each of the kids. Do you have an assistant to help you? I'm sure some of the answers will make you laugh. |

| Oh, I have several but my best is this..... take a small jewelry box and wrap it with pretty paper and tie a bow around it. Then, make a tag on the bow with this poem attached. I would recommend using some acid free type paper for your card so it will not fade or deteriorate. I loved this so much I had my kids make one for their grandparents one year, and they loved it too.... Below is a link to get a visual. The one shown is painted, the one my kids made was wrapped. So the poem was altered a bit. Either way is great. I took an ordinary box As empty as can be I filled it with a special gift And wrapped it carefully. But you cannot ever open it Just leave the ribbon tied And hold it tightly near your heart Because it's filled with love inside. http://www.earlylearningactivities.com/PDF/bfol.pdf

| One son (when he was in the 4th grade) drew four different pictures, (spring, summer, fall and winter) on 12x24 inch paper and then laminated them for place mats. I have them put away for him. He's a grown man now, but not married yet.

| Be sure to tell us what you decided on!!! I have a son in kindergarten, and a daughter in 2nd grade and I cant wait to see what their teachers came up with this year. I heard my sons kindergarten is really crafty.......thru out the year she sends home family projects, such as an easter egg to decorate on paper, and a snowman, and a valentine, etc. Then at the end of the year those are made into a calendar some how. SHe loves pictures, so I think she takes pcitures of them all and makes a calendar. That has to be a tremendous amount of work. Cudos to you for helping form those busy little growing minds! I still remember my kindergarten teacher. |

| Wow I miss those Mother's Day gifts. My youngest is in 6th grade now (middle school) and they don't do that anymore. When all 4 of them were small boy oh boy was it great. Now I'm sad!! I have a rock that my now 20yr old son found, when he was small, it is in the shape of a heart. He painted it red. I still have it on my nightstand in my bedroom. The little suncatchers were also great. Still have them hanging in my kitchen window.

| This is actually something I made for my mom in school a long time ago We made jewelry boxes out of Popsicle sticks and then decorated them with seashells... they were really cute and my mom had hers for a long time.
