For this one the teacher had to start early in the year I'm sure. She had the kids plant flower seeds in cleaned out milk cartons, I think sweet peas. As the plants grew she taught them science lessons about plant life. Then as Mother's Day was near, they decorated clay pots for their flower plants. I remember my son telling me, the teacher taught them about how children are like seeds, with love and nourishment they grow into beautiful adults, like the flowers grew from small seeds to beautiful flowers.
More than that though, I love my collection of handmade cards with their drawings. With bits of lace, buttons, glitter, coloring and printing only a small child can do....their printed words still get me teary eyed.
