the agony that dog must have endured .......it had to be a long time to get like that - just his poor nails being curled made MY temper curl - What is wrong with people ? How could someone let any living animal suffer to that extreme ?

That poor dog. I hate to say this but at least that poor baby is no longer in agony.....

I really hope they find the people who did this ....I know the courts go light but this is just utterly inhumane........they need jail time. The only excuse for this would if they are insane - and if not - they deserve everything the courts can throw at them. I wish they had an Animal Cruelty Database like they do sex offenders.

I hope they end up in jail with NO bathroom - no change of clothes - no toothbrush no nothing bread and water is too good for them

I guess I'm ranting but that was awful ....I hate thinking there are more dogs out there going thru the same

I have no words as to how disgusted I feel!! I always said that, I wish no harm to anyone or anything but there's an exception to whomever let this poor dog suffer. I hope they feel a fraction of the pain and torment that this poor dog endured!! This made me so sad.......

Horrible. I was working at the shelter Wednesday and they had a cat come in the day before that was so horribly matted. They spent an hour shaving him and they showed me what they got off him. It was like a whole formed body of matted hair and he still has terrible mats. They are going to put him under to do the rest as he was so traumatized by the shaving. He is a beautiful black and white Long haired domestic and he looked so terrified. Way too many bad owners out there.

That poor baby. The picture made me cry. How can anyone be so cruel to a helpless animal. It's just sad to think that some people just don't get that animals need us to care for them and they have feelings too.

When I first brought Truman home his hair came off in one giant mat. It was actually hard and felt like a rock. He had mats between the pads of his feet, around his genitals that had to be very painful, the hair inside his ears that were so infected it was running down the side of his face. Once I got him home I started with a pair of scissors and clipped it all off slowly in one great big mat. Months later he was just beautiful. He would have been here with me a year this month. People are just horrible the way they treat animals. Truman was one of the lucky ones~that poor baby. No animal deserves to die in such a horrible manner. It says that his muscles had atrophied which means that he was not able to move, stand or walk for a very long time

I'm so glad you posted this, Jodi. I was sitting here with tears running down my face for this poor baby, and then I saw the pictures of handsome little Truman. I went from heartbroken and depressed, to hopeful, because I know there are people like you out there doing their best to help. I just have to wonder how many people knew this pup was suffering and did nothing to help him.
