Call from Daughter's School

It appears that she has been telling stories to the other 9yo girls about <sigh> vampires and werewolves ...and 2 of the girls were so scared that they slept in their parents' rooms. Soooo...she asked that I talk with Taylor about scaring her classmates and said that she asked the other parents to talk with their kids about not believing in make believe stories.

So, I told My kid that if I can any more reports about her scaring the other kids, I was going to take her werewolf posters away.

I hope that one day her creative imagination funds my retirement.

I guess it's better than the 'I saw mommy and daddy nekkid' story I HEAR kids tend to talk about in school

At least her phone call was interesting . . .all I ever got was 6th grade Teacher: "Kristen forgot to bring her textbook to class" Me: "Umm ok, where is it" 6th grade Teacher: "She left it in her locker" Me: "Soooo did u let her go and get it?" 6th grade Teacher: "She is supposed to remember to bring it to class" Me: "Ok, well obvi she forgot" I think that had to be the dumbest call I ever received . . .

Now, this was back in 2001 and it is something I will never forget . . .

I got a call from my son's kindergarten teacher, (he's 11 now), telling me that he doesn't come in when she blows the whistle after recess.....and!!! This same teacher called to tell me that my daughter, (now 19), kept touching the stapler on her desk.... IDIOTS!!!! what am I supposed to do???

Wow... a lot of the stories you all are talking about where teachers are calling parents over stupid things are b/c the teachers cannot manage their students and implement proper rewards/consequences in their room. I would only call a parent if it was a severe issue or something that was repetitive that I felt the parent could really help the situation. hmm...

What a jewel! I teach 5th grade and my student have to take the State Writing Assessment. I preach creativity all year long!!! Be proud of her, I am and I don't even know her.
