| Do you Monogram...? If so, which sewing machine do you prefer for personalizing with Monograms? I'm thinking about upgrading my old Bernina to one which will do some basic embroidery & monogramming. Appreciate hearing your reviews on your machines pros & cons, too! Thank you! Jo Ann

| Hey JoAnn! I just did the same thing....my old machine started giving problems and was REALLY old so I decided to upgrade to a combo sewing/embroidery machine. I didn't want to spend too much since I never did embroidery before, so I bought the decided to buy the Brother combo from Home Shopping Network. It's one of the only ones that I found that has a USB port built in to be able to download the designs without having to buy "discs". It's very easy to use, and I'm very pleased with it. The only downside is that the hoop is only 4x4, but I'm making do! All the "bigger" hoop machines were way out of my budget, and I didn't want to have to buy an embroidery machine and then a separate sewing machine. I'm loving it!!! I even embroidered a cute yorkie design on Sophie's Snuggie, and on the other side actually put the words "Sophie's snuggie" - Simply adorable! Let me know if you have any other questions, because I can go on and on! Donna

| My singer futura has the USB port built in as well, and would you believe I still haven't used it. The college here gives lessons on how to use the singer futura and I'm going to sign up.

By any chance could you post a picture of what you've done so far? I'd really love to see it! 4 x 4 is small but, none of my girls have very long names anyway!

| Janome for me I have the Janome 10000 but since I got mine a think there are newer models out but I'm thrilled with mine it has a computer programme so I can do my own designs and also a USB cable for downloading off the net (funny thing is most of my downloads are Yorkies) It can monogram in 3 different sizes and each size is also adjustable by 50% each way, plus hundreds of normal sewing stitches. I'm in the process of designing a small tie monogram that I can put on Goerge instead of the standard bow as every one thinks he's a girl when he wears a bow and because he's so gorgeous I understand why they think that I have tried the Pfaff embroidery machine but find I need a drivers license to use it, used to sell the brother machines but my preference is Janome.
