Yep...I honestly have asked people that question because I really was not sure if they were in line. Some people actually DO stand in stores without being in line. I have stood behind them only to find out I was in the wrong place and the right line had gotten longer while I was standing there.
I only get upset when someone tries to cut in line. I have no issue with telling someone where the end of the line is. Not sure I understand this thread at all.

Let me make it clearer for you. When you see a very long line of people that wraps around the store, don't ask where the end of the line is while you are walking by. Just keep walking you will find it!!

Oh boy get ready, the world is going to explode with stupid people when holiday shopping really picks up! Online shopping is the way to go! LOL

He gets confused by crowds of people at times. While I know not everyone asking these questions are slow I think society is getting worse and worse about how we are treating each other.

I might add, there have been 10 million (okay I am stretching the truth here) threads on what I consider "stupid" questions in regards to dogs and Yorkies in general but I don't start a thread in regards to this.

Please the holidays are upon us and lets try and spread cheer instead of calling people names.
You are missing the point here. First of all I didn't call anyone any names. Let's get that straight. I think I have been around long enough to figure out if someone is mentally challanged or just ignorant. Let's not get on our high horse about being nice to the world. I didn't say anything to the woman. I merely mumbled it under my breath. Just venting about stupid questions. Oh let's give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she needed someone to help her find the end of the line!

Well, let me make myself clear as well. The point is taken and I am sorry you find shopping with others to be so stressful. It clearly has you quite angry.
Life is too short for me to get my panties in a wad over someone asking me a simple question. I really honestly do not see anything stupid with such a question; and have no problem assisting people who need it.
To each his own.
Wishing you a Happy Holiday Season!

Maybe she did not start at the front of the line...maybe she just walked up and saw a bunch of people and was not sure WHERE the line ended or even IF it was the line?? I have many times asked that very question. So...hey...count me as an idiot as you called her.

Ok I'll end this nonsense with this:

How could you mistake a line or a bunch of people standing around? When you are on/in line usually there are people standing behind each other with stuff in their arms that they wish to purchase. I stand by my former comment---the end is when you don't see anyone standing anymore. Just after the last person you see with stuff in their arms standing behind someone else with stuff in their arms.

Sorry for venting. I still say some people are idiots and they always manage to find me.

As for the Yorkie questions, there are no stupid questions when you are trying to learn how to care for our babies.

Just stupid obvious ones!!

Well, I can honestly say that I have had to ask. Sometimes the lines are really not clear. People tend to gather and talk in line and sometimes it is not that obvious when you walk up.
I have also gotten behind someone only to find out that the huge gap behind them was not the end of the line. Someone behind them was not paying attention and was standing way back. Then, I end up embarrassed feeling like they must have thought I was cutting in line. Better to ask!
I was not where you were, so who knows. I only know that it is not always clear to me. THen again, I am senile.

I went to Staples to buy back to school stuff, I thought wow simple no lines. There were about 100 people in the front of the store, I swear it didn't look like a line to me Until I walked right up to the register and almost got my a&& kicked the lady said don't you see all these people I said this is a line, she said umm yea I said thanks, put my crap down and walked out.
The point is life is to short to get upset over things like this. I do understand what you mean though. Christmas shopping is really stressful, I used to be a looney but now I just have a little patience and try to remember you just never know what the other person is dealing with. It costs nothing to be nice

This line was actually kind of roped off and was going up the aisle. It was very obvious there was a line.

I mean I have made this mistake also and stood behind someone who I thought was on line who wasn't...whoops!! But this was clear. It is not just this instance, in general people just ask the dumbest questions sometimes.

I can totally sympathize and although I try not to go out now, I really need to start avoiding stores now that the crazies are coming out. Four employees at Lowes asked if they could help me tonight while I was comparing 2 brands of light bulbs. Not a single one of them knew anything about lightbulbs (yet they sure *thought* they knew more, by reading the box, duh). The reason I was there was that they had already sold my husband the WRONG lightbulbs and he was on the ceiling hanging his new light, so I had to go. The kid held my purchase so he could do an "exchange" and then did a return and purchase anyway, which took twice as long. Ugh! If these places would just pay an extra $2 an hour they could hire some decent people!
OMG i can TOTALLY symphathize. I went to Petco to buy my new Cockatiel bird food. I had already bought seeds and someone told me to buy pellets as well cause they are healthier. So I go in and there are all these different types of cockatiel pellets. I've never bought them before So I ask someone working there 'Which of these pellets are the best kind?' The employee goes 'I don't know' . Well gee thanks A LOT! lol I don't know why they even hire them . Then he goes 'Oh I have a cockatiel too' so I go 'then what do you feed it?' He goes 'You know...just bird food'
