I will agree that every drug has it's good and bad but having said that today many drugs that come out on the market are just not safe.....106, 000 people die every year, not from prescription abuse, but from taking the drugs correctly. This figure is more than likely much high than this because of gross under reporting.....In just the past ten years a dozen drugs have been removed from the market....

.....these drugs caused many deaths and serious injuries. I'm sure many of the people taking them thought of them as safe drugs.....If you where to look up "pharmaceuticals and FDA connection" you would be shocked at the process of drug approval, how clinical trials are done, fudged statistics, employees from the FDA having financial ties to drug companies, and how drugs are not pulled from the market when problems start to occur.....

For me looking into this subject has been quite surprising and also very, frightening and disturbing......The more I kept reading that old saying kept coming to my mind..... " Don't believe everything you think." ...and I certainly don't anymore.....

You are correct about the FDA....scary stuff goes on. Nothing shocks me anymore.

I was the recipient of a product that was used in one of my surgeries that left me with permanent neurological damage....it was rushed through the FDA approval and then taken off the market after many people like me were left with problems. The head of the company was nailed with insider trading charges and bankruptcy was filed.

I only found out about it by chance a few years later. At the time when I kept complaining about the problems I was having, I was made to believe I was imagining it...at least that is how I felt. Funny thing is that they KNEW about it because it was recalled, but no one informed me. I found out years later. So...no...not shocked at all.

Wow girl, that gave me goose bumps just reading that!.....That had to be so frightening, and to think it didn't have to happen...I really hope your doing better in spite of this terrible, terrible injustice done to you and the many others.....Sad to say these sort of things are common place now......It just infuriates me at times.......

This is the very thing I was finding in my reading.....It appears the FDA was doing what it was supposed to do, looking out for the public's best interest, but sometime in the early nineties some changes occurred within the FDA and it has never been the same. Now when I hear a drug is FDA approved that claim no longer gives me a sense of security anymore......

Well, if we all wash our hands and get plenty of vitamin D we just might not need to resort to medications......

I had planned on getting the vaccine, so far every shipment that comes here "sells out" in a matter of hours. I thought I would just wait a bit. Well.....I am pretty sure my son has the flu now. Only a matter of time until I get it. For some reason the flu in my area is a lot worse (more cases, not more severe) than most other areas. 8 people died from it already here this season. The son that has it also has asthma so I will have to watch him close.

PILLS DON"T EXPIRED at all... only gel capsule, ointment and other LIQUID DRUG EXPIRED.... So stop trowing out you old bottle of Tylenol and other pills when they expired. Keep in the right condition (no humidity), they have less effectiveness with time but they is NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AND THEREFORE, NO REASON TO THROW THEM OUT!!!

My good friend that is working in a lab making medicine told me that well keep secret....

One of the reasons I will not get one is because the studies say they typically don't work........These are from just a couple of sources stating this....

There where a couple of years when the virus in the vaccine was guessed wrong so when the vaccine was distributed is was essentially worthless for those years. You would expect the death rate to rise dramatically in those years since no one had received an effective vaccine but they did not they stayed close to normal.......This is the quote......

If, as the CDC claims, 36,000 people die every year from the flu when 90 million people are vaccinated against the disease, how many more will die when only 45 million people are "protected?


Then there's the toxic chemicals in the vaccines......I don't understand how it's worse to get the flu than to inject toxic chemicals in your body that are going to accumulate in the brain and cause problems years down the road. The trade off just doesn't make sense.....

Many people who take the flu vaccine do not experience any noticeable short term side effects. However, a number of short term side effects have been reported which include muscle pain, respiratory tract infections, eye problems, abnormal blood pressure, asthma, hives and gastrointestinal problems. The more subtle, long term effects, affect everyone. According to renowned immunogeneticist Hugh Fudenberg, people who have had five flu shots over a ten year period, have increase their risk of getting Alzheimer's disease ten times. The reason being that the flu vaccine contains aluminum and mercury. As these heavy metals gradually build up in the brain they cause difficulty in multitasking, trouble with arithmetic, difficulty with thinking and language skills and memory loss. As a result of flu vaccinations the cases of Alzheimer's is expected to quadruple. Another toxic ingredient found in the flu vaccine is formaldehyde, which is known to cause cancer.

Flu vaccines can also contain a number of chemical toxins, including ethylene glycol (antifreeze), formaldehyde, phenol (carbolic acid) and even antibiotics like Neomycin and streptomycin.

In addition to the viruses and other additives, many vaccines also contain immune adjuvants like aluminum and squalene....This is a quote about the dangers of squalene.....

According to Dr. Viera Scheibner, Ph.D., a retired principle research scientist for the government of Australia:

“… this adjuvant [squalene] contributed to the cascade of reactions called "Gulf War Syndrome," documented in the soldiers involved in the Gulf War.

The symptoms they developed included arthritis, fibromyalgia, lymphadenopathy, rashes, photosensitive rashes, malar rashes, chronic fatigue, chronic headaches, abnormal body hair loss, non-healing skin lesions, aphthous ulcers, dizziness, weakness, memory loss, seizures, mood changes, neuropsychiatric problems, anti-thyroid effects, anaemia, elevated ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), systemic lupus erythematosus, multiple sclerosis, ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), Raynaud’s phenomenon, Sjorgren’s syndrome, chronic diarrhoea, night sweats and low-grade fevers.”[xii]

Oh, I am fearful of anything new....whether for me or my pups. When the vets started pushing that Comfortis I stayed away from it.

As for me, I was lucky...at least it was not a life threatening thing. Unpleasant, but I am alive. So many things kill people and pets now...it really is scary.

Nothing is safe anymore...food, medicine...nothing. For us or for our pets.

I don't think I'll be getting it- for a few reasons. It is a very new vaccine and was produced rather quickly- I just haven't seen enough studies done on it. I tend to react to vaccines and I don't really need that again. I don't usually get the regular flu vaccine as my doctor says I don't need it and I'm sure she would say the same about this one. I just plan to use an alcohol based hand sanitizer and wash my hands frequently.

Our doctor said he would not even give it to his own family so he would not give it to us. He gave my husband the regular flu shot. I don't get flu shots. The last one I got gave me the flu. I did not leave home after getting the shot and it turned into pneumonia and I was in the hospital on oxygen for about 3 weeks.

In all honesty, people get the flu and die yearly. The swine flu is not any different, they just gave it a name and make LOTS more money getting people to the doctor and making headlines with it. :-)

I don't believe in either of them and think it's all about making $.
I have no faith what so ever in the FDA! Don't believe a word they
preach about anything. Between them and the pharmacutical companies,
they work together to get rich off of us.
I have only had the flu once in my lifetime. Between all the different
strains the shot is useless, IMO.
