Thanks, will look into that as well. Maybe organic is the way to go. Believe me I won't give up until I get it right. | |

| ![]() Please don't ignore this Carol. There are risks with all meds. But most times NOT taking them is far more dangerous than taking them. It sounds as if you are doing your research.

| ![]() if u dont mind me asking is it really high. mine was high too but i didnt want to take lipitor due to the side effects and i read a lot of research and form what i gathered people with high cholesterol that took meds live only 18 days more than people who didnt take meds; so for me it wasnt worth it. instead i did lots of research about alternative remedies; which you can do and i took natrol omega 3,6,9 , Niacin, ALA (alpha lipoic acid) and coQ10, besides a multivitamin; and my cholesterol went down. also remember not only it's genetic but stress can contribute a lot to that too. best of luck

and to lower LDL you can eat more plant based diet (raw vegetables) and add the omega, flaxseed, coQ10 and ALA if your HDL is good then you shouldn't worry as much. also walk 20 mins or so 5 times weekly. good luck

| ![]() I have been a walker for 30yrs. I walk Mon-Fri most days 2mi on my lunch hr. I also take 1200 mi fish oil, mulit vitamin for your heart, eat healthy low fat too. I got the Lipital but am not taking it at this time. The statins scare the life out of me. Heart problems do not run in my family. Grandmother's both pass of heart failure at 92 and 93. That's good enough for me. I am not a smoker, I excercise, eat healthy, lost 20lbs last year, however, I like white wine and drink it every night. LOL I think that may be a problem so that's finished. Sweet N Low also can add to your blood pressure and cholestrol count I've read. So that's done. Switched to Stevia. I'll have another check in 6mos. My good is very good, triclicerides are fine, HDL is up. Have no idea why. Oh well, it is what it is. Thanks for all the infor. I think when the fish oil is done I'm switching to cod liver oil. |
