| I need to vent OMG is it me or does California have the rudest drivers!! I cant EVEN tell you how many times someone has almost hit me or almost ran me off the road!! Merging!! Do people understand that when you come on to a freeway the person in the slow lane SHOULD get over to let that person on so they dont run into the FREEWAY!!! I would say like 3 times this week some person wouldnt let me merge on the freeway!! One guy saw me and went faster!!! I dont know what it is? Do they think little ol me is going to slow them down that much?? Come on people I have a toyota yaris not a corvette, and you are lucky bc if I had a corvette you wouldnt even see me merge on the freeway, I would be that fast! I am not a slow driver, but I am a safe driver, I have been driving for about 10+ years and never had any accidents... I did run over an island and hit some curbs now and then but never with another person ! Man I am so worked up... You know whats funny DH always tells me " you dont get respect in the small cars" But I think its not the car its the person driving the car. Bc when I drive DH's big dodge ram diseal I still get treated like crap!! Eh oh well I guess I am obvoiusly doing something right being I never been in crash.. sooo I will continue driving how I drive and venting on yt!!

| Just ignore them and go about your way. I used be horrible and have really bad road rage, I think it's because I always let people go in any situation and I expect the same treatment ( I know I'm an idiot ) But one day a group of boys cut off an older man and the man chased them and gave them the finger well one of the boys took out a gun and shot him dead I felt so awful. This man was dead cause of a stupid situation. I vowed that day to never ever have road rage again. If someone gives me the finger or worse I simply smile. You just never know how people are or if you could be the straw that broke the camels back. I would just ignore them , a nice person will eventually come along and let you in. You sound like a nice person and Karma will come your way , soon. |

| I know what you mean! Where we live the mean age is about mid 70's... And I have never seen such road rage. I always leave early everywhere I go because you always have to double check everything... For example waiting a few seconds when the light changes because people always run lights, people turning in front of you, stopping and just acting ridiculous. Then you have the ones that just honk and drive like no one else matters... When we first moved here someone sat at a stop sign for seriously 5 minutes and we lightly honked and they got out screaming and acting crazy saying they were looking for something. They walked up to the window and we just took off. (common sense would tell you to pull over if you can't find something.) the other day someone almost backed right into me while I was driving by and if I wouldn't have stepped on the gas I would have been hit pretty hard. (why would you look straight ahead when your backing up! Not looking in any mirrors or anything) I have never had an accident and I consider my self a very safe driver... But it's not me I'm worried about hitting me. Defensive driving has saved my bum plenty of times. Always have a way out and never get boxed in. A while back there was a pile up and I missed it because I saw the person 3 cars behind me get hit and I moved out of the way and the car in front of me got hit! I had to pull over after and just sit there because I was so shaken.

Yes I agree with you 110%! I hated living in California because of the traffic. I had to drive about 25 miles one way to work every day and it was ridiculous. One time I will never forget I was driving on 163 (I know you don't know these highways but it's easier to just give them names haha) so 163 is 2 lanes one continues to 163 the other goes to 5, I was in the lane to go to 5 I was in a little car following a big SUV that I couldn't see around going about 60MPH. Well all of a sudden the SUV swerved into the shoulder I had to swerve into the other lane (thank god no one was coming) and the car that was behind me almost hit the stopped van that was in front of the SUV, all because the dumb A$$ in the SUV wasn't paying attention 3 of us almost died! OH it makes me so mad to think about that place! lol

| Oh you are lucky with your Yaris at least it's new. I have a 96 Corolla. But I love my Toyotas! Cheap, cheap on gas, cheap insurance, cheap on parts (not like they need any), but yes I know what you mean, people are SO mean to me on the freeways. Now I drive like I don't give a d@mn, b/c I don't. Hey, I don't have dents all over my car, and an unpainted fender for nothing! I've got good insurance so get out of my way! hee hee. You wanna hit me? Go ahead! I got paid last time!
