I know what you mean! Where we live the mean age is about mid 70's... And I have never seen such road rage. I always leave early everywhere I go because you always have to double check everything... For example waiting a few seconds when the light changes because people always run lights, people turning in front of you, stopping and just acting ridiculous.
Then you have the ones that just honk and drive like no one else matters... When we first moved here someone sat at a stop sign for seriously 5 minutes and we lightly honked and they got out screaming and acting crazy saying they were looking for something. They walked up to the window and we just took off. (common sense would tell you to pull over if you can't find something.) the other day someone almost backed right into me while I was driving by and if I wouldn't have stepped on the gas I would have been hit pretty hard. (why would you look straight ahead when your backing up! Not looking in any mirrors or anything) I have never had an accident and I consider my self a very safe driver... But it's not me I'm worried about hitting me. Defensive driving has saved my bum plenty of times. Always have a way out and never get boxed in. A while back there was a pile up and I missed it because I saw the person 3 cars behind me get hit and I moved out of the way and the car in front of me got hit! I had to pull over after and just sit there because I was so shaken. |
