| Yea-The club that we girls frequented every weekend was ALIVE with rumors, lol! Even the band members(who were like family to us) gave my buddy a hard time--kidding her that "Junie gave Shorty a fat lip". She had a hard time of it for a while! |

| About 3 years ago, my husband and I were feeding the horses hay and I had a hay bale in my hands and I jumped off the hay stack to go put it in the pen and I hit a small 3 inch ledge in the barn and rolled my right ankle! Ended up having to go to the ER and have x-rays taken. I was on crutches for a few weeks and had an ankle brace for 3 months. |

One of my favorite (wasn't then) stories from my childhood and probably the most freakish was when I was little, like 7/8 years old, my brother and I were home from school with chicken pox. My mom had recently taught me to crochet. Well, while we were sitting and watching tv, I was crocheting. I got stuck on something and casually put the hook end of the crochet hook in my mouth and about that time, my brother threw a pillow at me and the hook got lodged in my throat next to my wind pipe. It took minor surgery to get it out.

Good Lord! THAT is a freakish accident if ever I heard one. My little niece (4 yrs old) was walking around with the cross of her rosary in her mouth when her two year old brother yanked it out. Well a tooth tried to come out with it but it was sticking straight out. They had to have a dentist remove it! | |

| Hubby had one of these last week. He went outside to get something out of the trunk of his work car. There was mud right behind the car so he was kinda leaning at an awkward angle to get it out and his hand was obviously still in the way when he closed the trunk. His pointer finger was stuck in the trunk! He says he hollered and hollered my name... he didn't have his phone or his car keys. Finally one of our daughters heard him hollering and went out to see what the problem was. She popped the trunk from inside the car. I can't believe Tatum didn't even hear him hollering out there. We were just laying on the couch watching tv. Amazing how she can "sense" me driving up our long driveway - before I even top the hill for her to see me - but she didn't hear him holler. She only barked once when she heard the back door slam shut. Poor guy has a purple fingernail now and it hurt for quite a while but didn't seem to be broken.

| Yes, it was. I can not even imagine what he would have done if nobody had been home to open it for him. It took us a while to hear him but at least someone eventually did.

| I haven't slammed my finger in a car door since I was a little kid but I remember how much it hurt! I bet today's cars are even more tightly sealed. Geesh - your poor husband! I have half expected our beloved Ann to post about her fall down the stairs! |

| I've had many freak accidents...many of them including stairs. But, here's just a few of my more memorable ones: * When I was in my late teens, I was hanging out with some new and strange friends out on Long Island. One of these couples was infamous for their Fourth of July and Halloween parties (they were always epic!). One 4th of July they decided to have a jell-o wrestling pit in the yard. Yes, they filled a kiddie pool with jell-o and man was it a sloppy mess. I didn't wrestle, but there was jell-o all over the yard. I slipped in the jell-o and went down hard...on a huge rock. I wound up in the ER at Stonybrook with a broken wrist and a dislocated kneecap. It sure was interesting going in there without shoes and covered in jell-o. Months of PT on my knee followed. * The second story is one that my father still uses to this day as an example with the grandchildren. When I was 5 my brother had gone on a school field trip to a local site that was important during the American Revolution. As a souvenir he brought me back a replica fife (flute). Well, I was merrily walking around the house playing my flute, when I decided to go outside. I thought the side garage door was open...it wasn't. I walked right into the closed door and wound up with a flute lodged down my throat. Lots of blood and drama followed. My dad (who was a police patrolman at the time) was just leaving for work in the patrol car. He raced me to the hospital with lights and siren going. It was an extremely scary experience. However, I did get quite a lot of ice cream out of it! * And, to finish up, a story involving the dog. During the summer, DF was out walking Roxie. I went out to look for him, and saw he was on his way back down the street. Roxie saw me from a distance and took off like a shot toward me. DF actually came out of his shoes, let go of the leash, and went down like a ton of bricks. He ended up with a really bad mess on his knee, and a HUGE gash out of his wrist. His wrist has just recently healed, but he has a very obvious and large scar. I could go on for days here...LOL!

| Yesterday....only yesterday.....I had made spag bol for Andy and was carrying it through from the kitchen to the dining room, sort of round a corner. The sleeve of my jumper got caught on the door handle and kind of swung me round and the whole lot shot all over our (quite new ) cream carpet and the rest of it all over the wall He's not too happy with me today Sally x |
