H1N1 (swine flu)

My daughter found a natural herbal flu treatment that shortens the duration of the flu. It is FDA approved Oscillococcinum. You get it at CVS or Walgreens. She gave my granddaughter some this morning and she feels great now!

I'm going to get some just in case I or my husband, gets the flu, swine or seasonal.

I am still so torn over how to handle the Swine Flu with my kiddos. I had decided not to get the vaccine for them but have now heard of even more deaths of children. I am now considering getting it for them. They get the flu shot each year (preservative free, killed virus form).

I am just so worried about them being young (6 and 4) and the possibility of them getting this flu.

I am also very worried about this flu, ESPECIALLY for my 15 month old granddaughter. My daughter spoke with her pediatrician just the other day about the baby getting the flu shot. He told her if she were is baby he would give it to her. So...she may have her get the regular flu shot...hasn't decided on the swine shot yet. I am on the fence about it as well...they really don't know what the side effects from this shot are going to be. I read an article on it and it didn't make it sound good....at all! My Aunt sent me the symptoms for the swine flu verses cold...I will start a new thread and post it here. My daughter expressed her concern about people dying because of swine...her pedi told her that people die of the flu all the time...TO ME they are focusing on swine because it is new....Still worries me though. I think I might pass the swine shot this year until they have the long term side effects down.

Dr Mercola has some very informative articles on the flu vaccines.....Most doctors are clueless about adverse reactions and long term health problems of medications, most of what they know comes from the pharmaceutical company reps., who will always play up the good and never mention the bad.....Most reps have no medical background or any training in medicine, they are just regular people selling a product......Typically any site put out by the government is not a place to get accurate info.....

Personally I will never get a vaccine for a illness that is typically mild and runs it's course in a few days, it just doesn't make sense to me.......
