| Newspapers your opinion. Hey everyone I was at work today and I was talking to a customer and we started talking about newspapers. Newspaper companies are really pulling out, its seems that so many people are not reading the paper anymore and just watching and reading things online. I would love to have your opinion on the topic. How do you think the newspaper industry should respond to the change from print media to electronic media? I find this really interesting so I search the internet and this and found this video.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I hope they don't go all the way out. There are many many people who still get the paper - my parents are one of them ....not to mention the elderly and computerless people out there - Some people have just not had the need for one or can't afford all the extra costs associated with them There are still lots of old school humans in the world. I'd hate to see them miss out on something that's been around since the printing press was invented. |

| Guess I'm one of those Elderly but I still enjoy getting my newspaper even though I'm online all the time and watch the news on TV. I especially enjoy the Sunday News and all the store ads and coupons |

| I'm an old timer too! LOL! I LOVE to read the newspaper every morning with breakfast. But alas, it is getting thinner and thinner and I think they will be gone in the not too distant future. I'll really miss it - and there are people who don't have access to online news - so that part is sad.

The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | I am a victim of the lack of people reading the newspaper. I put in over 20 years working for this unnamed newspaper chain when they started the layoffs. It seemed that they layed off the employees who had been with the newspaper for many years. I was in the IT department and had senority over everyone and was layed off. I've seen that the newspaper has now not only print papers, but now publish the paper on the internet. I've also heard that the newspaper chain has since sold quit a number of their newspapers.

| Well, I am one of those that also love to read the paper and my husband does too. After reading it, it comes in handy for lining the trays of my bird cages, don't know what I would use without it |

| We here in the Detroit region of Michigan have already had a reduction in the print paper. The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press combined the weekend edition several years ago, but earlier this year they both reduced home deliveries to only Thursday, Friday and Sunday. You can only get daily paper if you go out and buy it and it is really thin. I don't think either one still produces on Saturday. Apparently, this system is being considered by every major newspaper across the country and they are all looking to Detroit to see if this further declines home delivery. I don't read the paper daily. But, I love the weekend editions (as I have more time then) and I like the fluffy stuff like the Lifestyle section, horoscopes, games and the sale flyers and weekend Magazine. The only online news I ever look at is on Yahoo....

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I LOVE reading the news online, but I'm one of the few people of my generation who actually likes to read the paper in the morning. There's something really interesting about it! While I believe they should keep advancing with the computer age, I sincerely hope that they don't completely get rid of paper papers.
