| Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Someone asked how to learn about the house they are living in. I was just watching a show called: "If Walls Could Talk". It's about old homes people have moved into and found traces of previous owners. They then traced back to learn who they were, the history of the house etc. They went to their local historical society/museum. So you might try that too.

| I actually have a picture of a ghost that I took at a local Civil War battlefield. You can almost clearly see a Civil War soldier standing behind a canon. If I can dig up the picture I'll put it on this thread. Another experience I had was when a friend and I were "ghost hunting" at an old cemetery and the moment we opened the gate to it we heard low growling coming from all over around us. Very scary!! We left quickly. I've often felt things around me but I've not yet "seen" a ghost with my own eyes. Being Catholic, I also strongly believe in the presence of the saints we pray through, also. I have a devotion to Mary and St. Therese, both of which have the smell of roses or other flowers attached to stories about them. I have experienced a wonderful smell of roses while praying the rosary before and it was the most calming time I have ever experienced. So there's a good story to round out the scary ones! |

| I forgot, I do have more experiences!!!! Several years ago, my mother (who has since passed away) was having surgery in Memphis to remove one of her legs (she was a severe diabetic, but a strong, determined, fighter!). My dad (who is a Methodist minister) was staying with her and was having a tough time. He stepped out of the room really late (2 or 3 am) one night to stretch his legs and get something to drink. No one was stirring around the floor and I don't think there was anyone at the nurse's station for some reason. He was walking around silently praying and he said that he heard as clear as day a low gravely voice say "Where is your God now?" My dad doesn't necessarily believe in ghosts but he does believe in demons and the Devil, and to this day he believes that it was a demon or the Devil saying that. I would have to agree with him, too! Another experience I had was when I was at college. I lived in a dorm where a young girl hung herself in the attic. We thought it was an urban legend, but it was actually a true story and was documented in the school library and the story re-ran in the campus paper, too! Anyway, one night I woke up in the middle of the night about 1 or 2 am and looked at the computer desk next to my roommate's bed. I saw a crouched black figure next to her bed, and I was suddenly paralyzed from head to toe. I couldn't talk and couldn't move. Finally I was able to shut my eyes and when I opened them, it wasn't there. That was as scared as I can ever remember being. I thought I had another but I just went blank! If I remember it, I'll be back! |

| Kristy47 you have some good stories. I have another one that I will share, but you have to not laugh at me on this one.... My grandfather was a Pentecostal Preacher in the country here in NC. During a sermon, a man came in possessed. My grandfather looked at everyone and said, "If you're not a believer, or if you're scared, you need to leave right now." I'm told that most of them left right then. The next thing that they did was get the man outside. He looked at my grandfather, and in a demon voice told him, "I get my power from the moon. You just made a big mistake bringing me outside!" My grandfather had everyone make a circle and join hands around the man. They prayed hard that God would move the clouds over the moon so that the demon would no longer have any power. The man hysterical by this point, climbed up in a tree trying to get closer to the moon, but it was no good. He fell out of the tree during the exorcism. Finally, after a few hours, and a lot of prayer, the demon came out of him. This is what has been passed down to me by my mother. I think she was there when it happened.

| My cousin had a funny ghost in her dorm. She even named him. She thinks he was a kid that liked to play practical jokes. Some things he did: 1. Made a ball that was laying on the floor suddenly start bouncing 2. Switched the hot and cold faucets (the little plastic knob things came off easily) 3. Turned off the light in the bathroom when she was doing her makeup, on several occasions (it was a pull-string light and she actually saw the string pull down) 4. Would move furniture so she would trip over it.

| I have several that I have posted to another thread last year so I just might have to resurrect them as Halloween gets closer. But I did just remember some that I don't think that I have told before. It is not about Randy ![]() We were working a Surgical Oncology convention at a huge hotel in downtown Chicago a few years ago. As part of the convention there are reception parties where the different companies rent a suite at the hotel, cater and invite guests to mingle etc. After all of the surgeons/guests had left I was with my colleagues and a few other reps that we knew from different work sites and some that we met while at the show just hanging out in the suite talking. I went into the bathroom that was located right off the living room area, used the facilities and washed my hands in the sink. I'm positive that I turned off the sick.............A few minutes later I hear the bathroom sick running FULL BLAST go into the bathroom turns off the water. The faucet was open so much that all around the sink was drenched! But I just assumed that I must have left it on since I had a few drinks I wipe it up and didn't really think anything of it and don't say anything about it to anyone. About a half hour later, I hear the water running AGAIN! Full blast water everywhere and my colleague tells me that she was just in there and she is positive that she turned it off. I tell her what happened with me earlier. hmmmmmm we both were convinced someone or something was playing pranks on us.

| This JUST happened to a friends daughter in Bachelors Grove which is THE most haunted place in IL! ![]() She posted this on FB (from her phone) so here is her post word for word! ![]() ok so freakin run outta gas on 147th & im sittin there in the rain waitin for kris to come get me when i hear someone whistle so i look all around and nobodys there..so 2 sec later i hear the whistle again and all of a sudden theres a dude and hes like "r u okay?" so i roll down my window and im like yeah and hes like ok and ties his shoe and starts walkin away lol. so i watch him walk away to make sure hes leavin ya know and i look to see where he came from, i figured he pulled over and got outta his car right? no..there is NO car anywhere. so i look away for im not s**ttin u like 8 sec..look back in my mirror and hes gone poof. it was so amazingly impossible..theres nowhere to go right there and he didnt come from a car...and the weirdest part, swear to god dude, i dont think his jacket was even wet lol...i was like wtf?! goofy sh*t..so he was either a ghost or one of the best predators i have ever seen lol. You HAVE to check out the link about to really read about this place. It is only about 10 minutes from my house, right off the road in a Forest Preserve. There are so many stories about this place and things like this happening in this area.

| OK, so this isn't really scary, but we did have an interesting experience a couple of years ago. Has anyone heard of The Catfish Plantation in Waxahachie, Texas? My DH, DD, and DSIL went there for dinner one night, knowing that it has a reputation for being haunted. Well, there were a few occurences like when my DD went to the bathroom the lights flickered, and the door to the kitchen kept moving (almost fluttering), but the really strange thing that happened was that I felt a drop of water on my hand, so I thought maybe it dripped from someone's water glass, but when I looked down at my hand, there was no water whatsoever! So I say something about it at the table, and my DH said the exact same thing happened to him. How weird is that?
