| I am a apple lover here too! My sickness started out with a touch, then it progressed to a 24" imac. The sickness progressed even further with another imac (for the family) and a macbook for me. It is NOT a pro. Mine is aluminum. I just got an iphone too. I have a severe case of apple-itis ![]() Mac all the way, baby! I will never own another windows pc again. Once you mac, you don't go back. lol My kids just switched schools this year. They are now doing a cyber charter school at home. The school uses macbooks (the white ones) so between the 2 school issued macbooks and the ones we own, I am ashamed to say there are 5 macs in my house. I LOVE IT! lolApple products are just plain good quality. They just work! I forgot to mention that I had absolutely no trouble making the conversion from an avid pc user for many years to learning the mac.

| I use a Mac Mini and wouldn't want to go back to a PC. They are just too slow and I hate having to run antivirus programs. It's a waste of time. ![]() I still use an HP laptop and really would rather have a Macbook.

Seems "once you go Mac, you never go back!" I will be saving up some extra money for the next month in hopes of getting one soon.

| Do you guys think I should save up a little bit extra for the Macbook Pro or just get the regular macbook that's $999 right now? I think I can save $75 or something being a college student. Is the Pro really worth it??

| Yes. Unless you want to take it back once a year to get the plastic case replaced. The guts are fine, the plastic case cracks too easily. We have 2 of them and apple will replace them for free, but save yourself the headache. The specs are better on the MBPs so you're paying for more than the metal case. |

Of course, no one knows with Apple... ![]() There are always refurbished ones on Apple's website, I'm not sure how much of a discount you would get over a student discount on a new one though. The new product announcement is today. 9/9/09 Rumors are everything from The Beatles on iTunes to a Tablet/Netbook, although it's probably just new iPods... The thing about Macs is that there are features built in that make so much sense, and once you get used to them, it's hard to go back. | |

| As a late birthday gift, I got a $200 gift card to Apple from my Uncle. ![]() Yay! I'm so impatient though and I'd LOVE to get a Macbook like, ASAP. lol. Thing is, me getting one now, I'm going to have to be real tight with my money for the next month or so, which is hard for me. But I'm thinking it will be worth it. I've wanted one for sooo long. I might just be "irresponsible" and "waste" all my money on a Macbook Pro, LOL. Of course, I know it won't really be a waste. It would be a lot cheaper for me to just get the regular Macbook. With my college discount and my gift card, it'd be $749 to get the regular Macbook. Also, with discount and card, it'd be $900 to get the Macbook Pro. I'm just debating on whether it's worth it, I think in the long run it may be better to just go Pro
