They changed this back in June, so now all the aluminum ones are MBP's, even the 13" That's sort of why people think they are going to come out with a smaller/cheaper netbook or tablet or something to fill out the 'macbook' line. I was hoping for a mini macbook air or something like that
Of course, no one knows with Apple...
There are always refurbished ones on Apple's website, I'm not sure how much of a discount you would get over a student discount on a new one though.
The new product announcement is today. 9/9/09 Rumors are everything from The Beatles on iTunes to a Tablet/Netbook, although it's probably just new iPods...
The thing about Macs is that there are features built in that make so much sense, and once you get used to them, it's hard to go back.
