| Need prayers and help Ok gals... some of you remember me. I haven't been active on here in a while. My husband has end stage bone cancer at 39years old. Anyway... I have a problem and I thought if anyone could help me it would be yters. I tried a golden page for this but haven't had any success. Here's the story: My husband is going through experimental 'monoclonal antibody' treatment for his cancer. This treatment is WAAAAYYY worse than any chemo or radiation has ever been. I believe he is going to make it.... cuz I have to... but this is the first time where I have had doubts. Anyway, he is asking for his mother (she is 80yrs old) and wants her to spend a month w/ us. He has never ever asked for this....so it worries me. Anyway... we got her a golden retriever for a companion.... Molly... she's fixed. She can't leave Molly.... or bring her here because I am SEVERLY allergic (i'd suffer through if it wouldn't put me in icu w/ an asthma attack). She is on a fixed income, living alone. We normally could help here, but while we finally got the military to pay for the experimental treatment.... we are out tremendous amounts on travel to new jersey for a couple of days every week. I don't think w/ back to school and the treatment related expenses that I could board her at a training facility. I am praying hard that God will open someone's heart so that they open their home to this dog for a month..... so that a dying army Major can see his mom for what might possibly be (although I'm praying and believing it won't be) the last time. She is fixed. She is almost a year old.... and a sweetie. We had her for a couple of months trying to see if I could live w/ the allergic reaction.... which I couldn't ... but she was around our yorkie... and while clumsy then... they loved each other. She has not been around cats...so I don't know there. If anyone has any ideas... or knows an amazing giving 'dog' person in south mississippi.... around the gulf coast... please pm me. It is so hard to ask for help... but I guess God is teaching me sometimes we have to put our pride aside... when it is for the greater good. Thanks for listening. |

| First let me tell you that I am so sorry about your husband. That is tough. About the golden.....have you asked your local humane society or a rescue if they have any ideas? Do you go to a church? Belong a a club? Could you ask someone at these places? At church put it on the person to person phone message. How about posting this request in your regional section here on YT. Hope you find a place for the golden. They are wonderful doggies. ~Joanne~

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I so hope someone can help you out. Maybe a church has a member who could stay at your MIL's for the month, maybe a very responsible college student. I will keep you all in my prayers.

| I am so sorry you are having to go through all of this! I wish I could help in someway, but being as I'm out in WA, I don't know how I could. Maybe a kennel would house the dog at a discounted rate or even for free if they knew the situation? It'd be a tax write-off probably for them? Your husband has given a lot for this country, I'm sure, and now we need to give back to him! I'll be praying for you & yours!

| You could try contacting a golden retriever rescue group in that area? Maybe one of their foster homes could take care of your MIL's dog while she's with you? If not, they may have some other suggestions that could help? Here are a couple of groups in Mississippi that I found: MISSISSIPPI Gulf South Golden Retriever Rescue Territory Service: Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida Panhandle J & L Golden Retriever Rescue Territory Serviced: Gulf Coast of Mississippi, Alabama, & Florida Inland To: Montgomery & Birmingham, Alabama, Jackson, Mississippi and Baton Rouge, Louisiana Contacts: MF11654@aol.com lkh5@mchsi.com Sending prayers for your husbands cure and prayers too for you and your family.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I am so sorry about what your husband is going through. If I was near you, I would help. Ya know, our local humane ass'n here in Phoenix does have a foster program that is especially for Military Personnel in need. So, I'd say check the local one, and share your story w/ local golden retr. rescues and I bet you'll find someone, I sure hope so. Your family will be in my thoughts.

| Thank you for your kind words. Thank you all so much for your kind words. Red98vette... so sorry to hear about your situation. I was just reading of another lady on here that lost her husband in March. It seems so.... unbelievable.... that we are going through this when he is the strongest, healthiest man I ever met.... before the cancer. To those who asked... I tried all routes discussed. The only offer we got was for someone to keep it outside. If it wasn't 110degrees in the shade down there... that might not be horrible... but she would die going from a/c to hot Poplarville MS humid.... extreme heat. Keep praying that it works out... the two options I have right now are both very costly. Thank you again, |
