| Pre Orthodontic Work Ethan goes Monday to get started on his pre-orthodontic work. He has several things that has to be done. The have to put spacers in his mouth. His mouth is too narrow for his teeth. They are going to be attaching(i can't remember what they are called) silver bands around his molars on the top and the bottom. The good thing about the top is that he won't be able to suck his thumb anymore YEA!!!!!!! been trying to break this habit for years. They are also going to be putting a few braces on his lower teeth I think it was 4 or 5. Our portion of this is $1600 our insurance pays $1000. They are going to let us make payments thank goodness. I didn't think to ask if they were going to be doing everything on Monday or if he would have to come back. I guess I will find out on Monday. Hopefully this won't be too tramatic for him. He is high functioning autistic but, he has a wonderfult pediatric dentist and he has no fear of the dentist at all. So he will probably be fine. Just keep your fingers crossed for me that he doesn't catch me off guard and start throwing a temper tantrum. I don't think that he will but you never know.

| When I had braces, they had to expand the roof of my mouth also,, they used an Expansion plate,,, I wonder if thats what your talking about,, It was the grossest,, they put this thing on the roof of your mouth and they gave ya this key and once a day you had to crank it,and it would widen and expand the roof of your mouth,, BUT food got stuck up there, and you would have to HACK it out.. Oh How I remember that 25 years ago! what a lasting impression it made! ANd when they finally removed it,, STINK! OMG. .. Now that I have grossed you all out... But I do have nice straight teeth! Ha... Im sure he'll do fine... good that he like his dentist. Cant believe how much braces are these days!
